KugaWestie
Ok, enough is enough I have an oil filler cap very similar to this on my way to me http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Hi-Quality-of-BLUE-Billet-Engine-Oil-Filler-Cap-for-Hoda/499997478.html No suprises there - it is blue And a quick rubbish shot of the camcover taken on the phone Now, what to do with the lettering? hilux
Loving a good build thread - following with interest. These engines have the original water pump bolted to the block without a gasket so just a precautionary note in that the mating face was painted so I assume you have a gasket there or a good quality sealer or it will leak? Thanks Not quite right hilux Original water pump does use a gasket. Replacement one I have fitted included a new gasket, and some loctite copper sealant both sides of it for good measure
hilux
Sorry I might be confusing myself (and you) I thought Mazda only used a sealant but (its not a critique) and you are probably ok however I`ve built a few cars in my time and you live and learn so what I meant was........................ ....................if you've painted machined mating surfaces then I personally would use a decent sealant as belts and braces even if a gasket was used as paint overun/thickening on edges can mean the required evenly distributed clamping force is ineffective all over due to very slight high spots if you can see where I`m coming from - especially as I`ll bet the pump gasket is very thin because it is used on accurately machined mating faces
