Liking the finish of the cam cover etc, very classy.

Good to see you're focusing your energy into something positive - going to be one very well built westy when yoy have finished.

Thanks Pete - doing the best I can

Pic of what the offending bush should look like, you can see how it splits length ways to clip in the tube.

This is actually a column mount for a LHD car but it gives you the idea. No idea why I had one of these in my kit :d

They look very similar to the old BMC steering column bushes after they upgraded from the felt ones.

Cheers mate - will be going for engine start soon

Whats left to do.....

Fit injectors/fuel rail when they come back from blink for cleaning - waiting on some seals

Finish cooling system - may run a hard line down to RHS (when in car) of engine bay

Make a bracket for crank position sensor

Clean, paint and fit idle air control valve and throttle body

Fit intake pipe and air filter

Take off sump to check I've not squashed the oil pick up mesh

Battery

Wiring wiring and more wiring

Calibrate sensors and get a base map from Omex

Temp fit mx5 exhaust manifold if new one hasn't arrived from Westfield

Not a toooooo long of a list - but not far away :t-up:

Does this not risk drawing in unmetered air into the inlet manifold via the cam cover? Oil cap looks good!

If the battery is a gel type then yes it can be mounted any way, side upside down or rightway up.
