KugaWestie Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 The manual keeps saying "do not torque tighten yet", when are you supposed to torque tighten all the suspension - when you cannot get in with spanners? Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 The manual keeps saying "do not torque tighten yet", when are you supposed to torque tighten all the suspension - when you cannot get in with spanners? You don't want to tighen any of the suspension components till it's sat on it's wheels and at it's finished weight. If you do them up while it's still in the air the rubber in the suspension bushes will be twisted when you drop it down. Quote

KugaWestie Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 A few little jobs today. Stripped all the insulating tape off the main loom, sticky, messy and dirty job, but it was nice sat in the sunshine in the back garden! Picked up a bracket from Wickes, modified it to suit the speedo sensor and fitted on the diff bracket, pointing at the 4 bolts on the drive shaft. Need to find another lock nut to complete this. Then I fitted to last panel that had not been done previously As I had opened a new tube of silicone just for that panel, I decided to unload the rest of the tube resealing some of the body panels. Hopefully I will be picking up the modified sump and pick up pipe tomorrow Quote
