  1. Ford Sierra 3.92 open 7 inch diff. Freshly painted and ready to install. Only removed to upgrade to lsd. Collection preferred due to weight however happy to discuss courier options. Looking for £150 ono.
  2. Jonathan.edwards

    I broke it, again.

After 6 days, I’ve broken it again. The offside drive shaft sheared, and took out the wheel carrier. Anyone know where I can get replacements?

    Diff breather catch-tank

More items in the garage clearout.... Also a very simple but effective differential breather bottle; Seems a shame to junk it... £5 + postage. A lightweight windscreen washer bottle. I made this to save carrying a kilo of washer fluid around and taking up a decent size space under the bonnet. Passed the MoT every time, it just means that you carry less than a coke-can amount of washer fluid with you...Perfect! (how often do you manage to drain a washer bottle in a Westfield?!). It's got the T shaped connector with a couple of inches of wiring tail, and also a black washer spray nozzle...SOLD And a Ford Sierra handbrake....SOLD (I've also got a handbrake cable if you really need it - not the best condition but may be useful to someone?)

    Rebuilt Sierra 7" LSD

Sierra 7" LSD 3:62 This is the diff out of my Megablade, it has done about 900 miles since it was fully reconditioned by the guys at Road & Race Tranmissions in Kent with all new bearings and left as good as new. Only reason for sale is it is no use for my new engine £400
  5. Andrew O Byrne White - Ireland AO

    MX5 3.9 LSD

Hi all, I'm back home in Ireland for Christmas and stumbled across someone selling two mx5 diffs from 6 speed cars. I've bought the 3.6 for myself but he's got a 3.9 there too. I know these are pretty hard to come by so if anyone is looking for one, I can pick it up and take it back across on the ferry when I'm going back to work. I paid 400 euro for the 3.6 with prop shaft and drive shafts. I'd imagine the cost for the 3.9 will be pretty similar. As I said I can take it back across to Birmingham for anyone interested. Cheers, Andrew
  6. Due to a change of plans I'm putting this up for sale It's a rare 3.6 ratio type-2 Torsen Torque biasing diff. Please ignore the fact it has 3.9 written on the carrier, i've counted to teeth on the crown wheel and pinion and it's definitely 3.6 Most MX5's came with either a 4.3 or 4.1 ratio diff, the 3.6 was only found on the 6-speed cars. Comparing with a 4.3 ratio this will give you an engine speed of approx 3100rpm in 5th gear at 70mph rather than 3600rpm. First gear will also be longer increasing from approx 30mph to 37mph @ 6200rpm. 60mph in second gear would now be possible. Further reading here http://www.miata.net/garage/diffguide/ http://www.torsen.com/products/products.htm http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/gearing.php Visually the diff is in very good condition, I have removed the carrier to inspect the gear surfaces and there is no evidence of chips or damage. The diff has been reassembled, but is currently not filled with oil. For those that have the smaller diff fitted to the 1.6 cars (identifiable by having no torque damper on the diff nose and bolt on driveshafts) I also have spare a pair of push in driveshafts and a shortened prop of the correct length for a Westfield which I would sell with the diff. I'm offering this for sale at £300 for the diff only or £400 with the shafts and prop which is a lot less than I paid for it. I'm afraid it's too heavy for me to post, but I'm happy to wrap it for you to send your own courier or else collection in person from Colchester CO6 Thanks Mark wsccessex@btinternet.com
