I am about to remove this standard, unheated, black windscreen from the car. I want to give you as honest an appraisal on its condition as I can. I'm a bit OCD so probably being incredibly critical/fussy, but having now thoroughly cleaned it and looked at it very closely with work lights from various different angles, I'm quite surprised at the number of really tiny stone chips/marks. The car (and I assume the screen as I believe it's the original) has done 18k miles, so the screen has definitely been used. Under normal daylight conditions it's quite difficult to see most of the chips, it

Final item on the shopping list to find. Just need a polished windscreen. If it's heated that's a bonus ( I have a new, unused black one which I would be willing to part exchange or swap depending on type/condition) but just a standard screen would be a start! Glass must be in good condition please. If anyone has or if you know someone who has one please PM me or call 07771 683133. Thanks, Gareth

Hi, Bought a S/H screen & Pillars from a fellow member because black suits the car better and my old Ali one was a bit tatty. I have noticed that the curvature of the bottom of the screen looks significantly different... Dan did mention that getting seal between screen and scuttle had been a real issue - Has the scuttle and screen shape changed over time? The Ali one fitted well, the original screen and scuttle from a kit sold in 1991. The uprights are different too but as far as I can see only in the mirror attachment

More items in the garage clearout.... Also a very simple but effective differential breather bottle; Seems a shame to junk it... £5 + postage. A lightweight windscreen washer bottle. I made this to save carrying a kilo of washer fluid around and taking up a decent size space under the bonnet. Passed the MoT every time, it just means that you carry less than a coke-can amount of washer fluid with you...Perfect! (how often do you manage to drain a washer bottle in a Westfield?!). It's got the T shaped connector with a couple of inches of wiring tail, and also a black washer

Would anyone have an EU spec windscreen that they no longer require? It is about 2 inches higher than the standard, and I think that they would be fitted to a sport turbo model originally. Thanks Mark

Hi chaps, Not exactly very technical or sophisticated engineering, but need guidance anyway. The windscreen and hood are probably about the only thing on my Westie that date back to its 1991 origins and as such, they have the studs along the top of the screen rather than using the channel fitting. I never really use the full hood and was looking at getting a half hood instead. Rather than fitting a whole row of poppers into a nice shiny half hood, can I convert across to a channel? Is it just a case of removing the studs and filling the holes with some flush countersunk bolts?

Has anyone got a windscreen frame they don't need? For a widebody. Always wondered why I couldn't get the top of mine to line up properly with the roll bar and after careful measurements find the frame is distorted. Obviously made like that as no amount of bending would correct it. It is over 10mm taller one side than the other. The glass I have removed is fine and the correct shape. Only need the frame so cracked glass, or preferably removed, isn't a problem. Shiny or black, not bothered. Thanks.

Fitted the half hood on Wednesday and took it for the first drive to the Cotswolds meet last night. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to flap much, or due to my compact nature it doesn't flap so much that it hits me on the head! However, it does seem to tug on the windscreen a fair amount. Is this normal? I only noticed it through the image in the rear view mirror bouncing when the car wasn't. If it weren't for that I wouldn't have noticed it at all. It's probably only moving by a small amount but it's just being exaggerated due to the mirror. I think that when the roof is flapping slightly
