KugaWestie
No hood or doors were fitted any press studs riveted on the body would have been an SVA fail. Just had to man up and wear plenty of layers Snow coming over the top of the screen must have been a joy

KugaWestie
I was smilling too much to care about what the weather was doing I know that feeling Anyway, back on thread, come on the Dave - what is your target for IVA?
darve
thanks Gary stop having a mother's meeting on my thread iva, hmmmm at the rate things are moving at the moment, maybe end of May mid June. That may be a bit optimistic though! once the wiring is finished (dull dull dull) and engine running, will feel like the end is in sight! bodywork, seats, interior, rolling road, geometry and iva prep. also need to decide if im going to fit a cage as I had to sell that to raise some cash back in october. think I'll see where im at at the end of April and then consider booking IVA. seems crazy thinking about that step. also dont want to rush. what will I do with all my time when its built....... darve
do I need to change my mazda oil pressure switch to work with my etb gauge? mazda one one from Westfield im not using a oil pressure warning light btw thanks
Dommo
Assuming you've got a switch not a sender (the earlier mx5s had a working gauge rather than just a switch) you'll need to change it. It's a job I have to do at some point, along with fitting those coolant pipes in that photo.
darve
thanks dom. its obvious now you've said that! mx5 only had a light not a guage. tip for when you come to the job. you can get the mx5 out with a socket bit. you can JUST about get the westfield one in with the starer motor removed. Pistol Pete
If you're going on the track then you need an oil low pressure lamp, took our first engine by not having a lamp - very difficult to see oil surge in the corners - light is much easier! darve
Could someone with FW front bodywork do me a favour please? I would like to know where abouts the scuttle sits. If someone could take a measurement from the inside edge of the dash hoop to the inside of the scuttle that would be fantastic. I'm trying to suss out if I have enough space on the ali top panel the scuttle sits on for my battery. Would also help with the plumbing for the header tank Hopefully this picture will help Thanks for any help
Doug Dastardly
Would it not be easier to measure the scuttle forward to the front edge of the ali panel? Or am I missing the point? It wouldn't actually be that easy to take the measurment you're wanting in built up car but I'll give it a whirl if you're desperate. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance though. grahamf
I have that exact battery in that exact location with an FW nose, so it fits. I will take a picture. Here you go Graham
Dommo
I've got 182mm from the front edge of the ali section back to the scuttle. Out of interest how much does that battery weigh? Just weighed the standard one and it comes in at 12kg
