Except ones with black cycle wings & 'boot' which are exempt  ;)

Time & time again I see posts of "use the search function" in reply to new members posts, which ok they might not know about but EVERYTIME!?  It frustrates me a bit & I see it as a bit 'petty' (IMO), especially if they are new to the fold & don't get the so called 'humour'.

With the greatest respect, I may be wrong, but I presonally cant recall anybody just answering with "Use the search function" unless it is a regular, who *should* know better anyway. And no, I'm not going to do a search to find out  :D

Everyone starts somewhere, usually the topic titles put in by the new members are relevant to the question so if you are so tired/sick of seeing the posts, just ignore them, it's quite easy, it's like people who moan about e-mails you know that key that has DELETE printed on it, you can use it, etc.

;)  ???    :p  :D

Also very true, but how often does a post end up being ignored because it is 'the same old question'? For example, very often a question that has 'wheel offsets' in the title will be ignored for hours. IMHO this is rude especially as it is very often a newbie, and I would rather reply with something along the lines of "Welcome, have you tried the search facility, this question appears quite often". Any reply is better than no reply. :t-up:

I personally think the search function does exactly what it says on the tin. I am NOT an IT pro or anything, just a simple user......

IMHO, Mike and OiOi should take the time to read ALL the options on the search page, 'cos there may be something you might not have seen that would enhance your search. Also, go to Google/Yahoo, and read the "How to use the search" sections that they have. Your entire internet experience will be all the better for it, IMHO. I have this opinion 'cos *lots* of sites have searches that work like a Google/Yahoo search, so it'll help when looking for car parts/video's/DVD's/piano's/gardening equipment/HiFi/computers/cuddly toys/holidays/insurance/comics/books/pottery/history/geography/literature/chemistry.......you get the picture.........  Basically, the internet is an excellent resource, and it's well worth learning how to use a few simple tools so that the vast richness of information is available to you quickly. As I said before, I have far more in mind than just searching this Boardroom........  :suspect:  :suspect::blues::blues:
