Might consider this for my winter project
Mark (smokey mow)
your telling me I clean it up and painted it for no reason what's the fourth whole in the engine mount for (top left)? or is it the same bracket for other kits too? The same bracket is used on the 1600 and 1800 but the blocks and the position of the studs on the casting are different. The westfield engine mounts dont fix in exactly the same position as the maxda engine mounts but instead use a couple of the fixing points for the engine ancillaries. darve
success Westfield still haven't corrected the engine mount holes
Mark (smokey mow)
Westfield still haven't corrected the engine mount holes Move the engine back and then redrill it on the drivers side, that way you only have one hole to drill rather than
darve
the gearbox mounts would have dropped of the back of the plate in the tunnel if I did that. three holes now drilled

darve
wouldn't surprise me maybe 1.6 sits slightly different?
darve
the rhs rear upper wishbone arrived on Friday so diff has now been fully fitted. the welding of the support plate on the diff brackets are somewhat questionable as I had to pack one side out to make the diff level. look at the second picture and you can see the plate to the rhs bracket is higher! Mark (smokey mow)
That would be the twist in the chassis nothing to worry yourself over clip a few curbs and you'll soon knock it level
darve
question time now I'm fitting the clutch cable and the banjo bolts seem to be bottoming out before sitting home master cylinder end is worse. are you meant to pack out with copper washers or get shorter bolts? Dommo
I had that, but I can't remember what it was. Doh! I know I ordered new bolts, got the thread size wrong but can't remember if I ordered some more. I ordered a new clutch cylinder too, but I think that was because I stripped the thread trying to tighten it up too much.
KugaWestie
I fitted a spare shorter banjo bolt at the slave cylinder. Master cylinder was ok for me
Mark (smokey mow)
I fitted a shorter bolt but you should be able to cut or grind the old one down by a few mm.
Mooch
Its a standard Mazda SDV problem. I was looking for the receipt to find out what thread/depth I bought to fix the snag but unfortunately I can't find it - probably just a till receipt. Merlin Motorsport at Castle Coombe had the right part in stock, and it was cheap to fix.
