Wee Dov Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Hi all ,Ihappened to be in Perth today so I took a wee look at the McDonalds in the motor mile . The car park look's to be plenty big but if its really busy there is a bit of Asda's car park next to it anyway. I timed it back to Kinross on the way home and it's approx 1/2 hour,so meet at Kinross 10.30 gives all plenty time to get to Perth for 11.30 no problemo. About to check forcast on metcheck so fingers crossed eh! Quote
Jumpy07 Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Doesnt look too bad at the mo.. but its a bit far out yet CJ Quote
Rab (bombero) Reid Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Hi, Rab 'bombero' Reid here (Bruno's mate). I'm the happy new owner of brindle's old pride'n'joy. Hoping to make this meet . . . if you'll have me! Quote
Matta Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Hi Rab - The more the merrier! Be good to have you along. A couple of us will be meeting at the Forth road bridge BP station at 100, then Kinross services & Perth as per the earlier details. See you on Sunday. Cheers, Matt Quote
mi7rennie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Looking forward to Sunday, will see you all at the Broxden Mcdonalds @11:30, might also have brother / dad coming along in a circa 300 bhp focus ST, if nobody minds? Cheers, Mike Quote
Wee Dov Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Hi Mike glad to see your coming ,we are meeting at McDonalds on the Motor mile where all the garages are. Crieff road to be exact A85 Its got a bigger car park than the one at Broxden Quote
Bruno Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Disaster- something has come up & I won't be able to make it on Sunday. Will try & make the Applecross trip instead. Steve Quote
Matta Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Another potential disaster! Went to tax the Westie on-line last night and discovered the MOT expired over a week ago! Dropped the car off at my mate's garage at 6.00am this morning, so fingers crossed that it passes. I've been looking forward to the run for weeks - I'd feel like a right idiot of the car failed and I couldn't make it. Very embarrassing!! Matt Quote
Rab (bombero) Reid Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Gulp, I might not make it either .. well, you know what it's like when you get a new car .. you start poking around, fiddling with this, fiddling with that. Well, at the moment, the dash is off and there's wires everywhere while I move switches and fit new ones and I'm waiting on an order arriving but cutting it real fine for Sunday Quote
Jumpy07 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 well, you know what it's like when you get a new car .. you start poking around, fiddling with this, fiddling with that. What do you mean new car..? I am still doing this after nearly three years lol... had similar issue with mine.. took the inlet manifold off to do some porting to it... that and fit the right gasket.. result was my Injection map was miles out afterwards.. just got it running well enough to make the run... :-) Just get it back together... summer is for driving.. winter is for fiddling..... :-0 Now heres hopeing it stays dry.. Matta Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Disaster averted - my very obliging garage did the MOT first thing this morning and delivered the car back to the house - that's service for you! Only advisory was very slight play in a front lower wishbone rose-joint - anyone know the cheapest place for Silverline rod-ends? Roll on Sunday! Even if the forecast is looking dodgy... Bombero - get the finger out and put it back together. You've got another 2 days! Matt Quote
dabar Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Hi Matt, Merlin motorsport supply silverline rod ends, maybe ask in the speed series section, someones bound to know someone a bit cheaper Hope the weather holds, not looking brilliant down here. Graham. Quote
Matta Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Ta Graham - I'm getting used to being wet (fortunately). Can you remember if the widetrack wishbones are the Westfield ones? I'd like to try and narrow down the correct size/thread etc. so I can order a new one before I strip the old one off. Cheers, Matt Quote
dabar Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Fairly sure they are Westfield parts,if you look carefully there should be part numbers stamped somewhere, sorry can`t remember where though Graham. Quote
TerryC Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Ross, Depends what it is you do, if you know what I mean..... Terry Quote
