Dear WSCC members,

Following a recent post on this forum, I am pleased to announce on behalf of Westfield Sportscars, that we will be hosting a Westfield Active Day exclusively for WSCC members (inclusive of family and friends) at a discounted rate.

Westfield Sportscars created the concept of ‘Westfield Active Days’ in early 2008 to provide members of the public, Westfield owners and prospective owners with an opportunity to explore the limits of factory supplied Westfield’s in a safe and controlled environment.

The Westfield Active days were held at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground during 2008, but at the beginning of the 2009 season we relocated to Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire http://www.millbrook.co.uk/  and also teamed up with Autocar magazine to offer another product – Autocar Drift School.

Millbrook is an extensive test facility which is usually off-limits to members of the public. Its tracks and facilities are truly some of the best within Europe and are regularly used by vehicle manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Mclaren and Porsche as well as other volume manufacturers and the military.

Millbrook has also featured in numerous TV commercials, films (such as the recent James Bond movie Casino Royale) and on TV shows such as Top Gear and Fifth Gear (who are currently based at the facility).

The Westfield Active program consists of a full day of activities at Millbrook. Arrival is at 9am followed by a short safety briefing and then straight in to the action, with the activities finishing at around 4.30PM (dependant on light).

The day utilises the factory’s two show drift cars as seen at venues such as the 2008 British International Motorshow and the annual National Kit Car show held at Stoneleigh.

Participants will be taught the art of driving a Westfield in a long and controlled powerslide, how to execute a precision donut, transition drifting, threshold braking and other limit handling skills by the Westfield Factory Drift Experience drivers.

Weather permitting, one of the Westfield factory drivers will provide passenger rides around Millbrook’s famous Alpine Circuit in either the new AeroRace 190M or Westfield Sport Turbo.

The day will conclude with a timed Autotest which will combine all of the skills developed throughout the day’s activities, with prizes for the three quickest times of the day!

The emphasis of the day is on tyre smoking fun, however we truly believe that you will leave the event with a greater understanding of vehicle dynamics, which we hope will not only add to the enjoyment that you get from driving your Westfield, but importantly will leave you better equipped should you be unfortunate enough to encounter a hazardous situation on the road.

I’m pleased to be able to offer WSCC members this day at the specially discounted rate of £175 per person (usually £199 to members of the public) on the basis of a minimum of 15 people attending the day.

Catered lunch, drinks throughout the day and as many tyres as we need are all included within the cost!

Its truly a great day, so don’t miss this unique offer. There is a feature in this weeks Autocar magazine covering the recent Autocar Drift School day, so if you would like a better idea of what to expect have a look here.

If you are interested in principal, then please reply to this post and should we attract the minimum 15 people, we can then provide several possible dates and go with the majority verdict.

Should anyone have any additional questions prior to registering an interest, please feel free to ask!

Best Regards

Jamie Morrow
