I wonder if you could have entered the meg if it was alive. Sure it would just need your extinguisher and it'd be reet, or does it have to have an MSA log book thingy? Quote
conibear Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 email them and let them know your predicement. My club will always carry over an entry fee till next month. But, other events or non member clubs normally as a rule of thumb give you upto three days before the event to pull out Quote
cast iron Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Being a 1540 busa Im guessing it wont be a custom piston. I'm going to take a wild guess that the original builder has picked the nearest standard piston, probably from a lower reving car, its probably too heavy for the revs and hence the cracking from the momentum at the top and bottom of the stroke. Can the rods be checked for any signs of elongation? Quote
JeffC Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 no they are wiseco pistons made for the job and Ive been informed that each block is bored/plated to the pistons , standard pistons/bore is 81mm and mine has 83mm , most of the extra cc comes from the stroker crank Quote
JeffC Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 have I run a black cat over or something place pistons are coming from forgot to send them out so engine hasnt been built today, If I make it on Saturday it will be a miracle at this rate Quote
JeffC Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 well I got home with engine last night at 11.00 so if things go my way It should be fitted this morning and run in this afternoon , collected the new manifold yesterday on the way down , looks good but Im not confident its going to fit Quote
