Andrew is wise, go down before hand and ask for a test.

What size is your can and has it been repacked?

I've not driven Castle Combe, but their noise limit may be tighter than the average 105db day? .. although they state it's done at 4500rpm which is lower than I've been asked for at some other tracks.

From their website:

Noise limit: STRICT100db(A), which is measured at ½ metre from the exhaust outlet at 4500rpm

***Please Note: We do not recommend the use of sound monitoring apps or third party decibel meters as they do not give a true reading and cars will still need to be noise tested***

If you're only 20mins away, why not pop along when there's a trackday on, and get you car tested?

Good idea @Andrew I see if I can match a day off to good weather to track day testing...

I may along to Donnington and ask them to test my car... I had no issues at Blyton but I was worried about Bedford even though I do enjoy it... Is Oulton Park not to strict then as they always were when I was there on my bike..

Donington uses drive by noise metering. They say their 98 drive by is close to 105db static. It's worth asking if they'll give you a test though..

As far as I know most other circuits are 105db static. I don't think Oulton is any different to others.. maybe they don't like noisy bikers.

I was 105 static at Cadwell and I have carried out some work on the exhaust to shut it up a bit so I could be ok....

How much have you got to do Russ?

I should be swapping my gearbox back to the 6 speed, but it's far too cold in the garage..

I hope to have completed my service work and improvements by end of March.. might consider April 5th at Cadwell as a first outing...

Heading down to CC this weekend if the clouds part for a test.

Standard westfield 5" initial build Can (6 years and 6K miles) not been re-packed as welded bold ends.

I was thinking about getting a Simpsons Race Exhausts 6" repackable silencer only?

That might be quite loud, it’s probably got no packing left!

Wunoff are a good alternative to a Simpson can if you’re feeling a little less spendy. They made me a bespoke one a little longer than normal for a very reasonable price.

@Archibald Meatpants cheers, I'll give them a call - it is VERY loud!
