Thrustyjust
Nicely finished lugs after you cut them out John. Had done similar by sliding a piece of plastic between the chassis rail and side panel and fibre matting and filling and sanding .
RX05
Cheers. It took a lot of time to fit them but was very satisfying to do.

The aero catches are not easy to fit but are more than worth the effort in my opinion. I was worried about not getting a good fit so after putting masking tape on the bonnet I used double sided carpet tape on the ‘ring’ that the catch would bolt to on normal cars and stuck it to the outside of the bonnet. The ring was a very snug fit to the catch and stuck very securely to the bonnet. After cutting the shape out roughly with a disk I was able to use a sanding drum on the dremel and carefully sand down flush to the ring. I found this was much easier than trying to work to a pen line as the ring was a perfect template. With a bit of care I was happy with the result ! John Your bonnetlocating blocks are different to mine and have you put a rubber seal between the side panel and the bonnet? Where did you purchase the bonnets catches from and are there only one type?

Andy (Sycho)
Just now, Insuranceman said: Did you have to cut the bonnet locating block to get the catch to fit? Yes you have to grind away the blocks both sides so the catch sits in them, bare in mind the blocks are in different positions on each side. Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Yes cutting the blocks seems to be a constant in most of the catch installs I've seen. I must admit, those filled and painted(?) blocks look really good, and does take the install to the next level; as our US car show cousins are fond of saying! Andy (Sycho)
Also my photos are from different stages of my build so some are from before I fitted flared sides.
Insuranceman
Right I'm getting these catches, in carbon effect and lockable, where do I get them?
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
A reputable supplier, rather than just a no-name Ebay source. There seem to be a few fakes out there.

Andy (Sycho)
I think the plus flush fit to the face of the bonnet & the flush fit from the rear, there’s not really enough flat area to fit the face fitting ones.
Andy (Sycho)
If you select the different type in the drop down menu it shows you the different catches in the photo.
