    Crank sensor

Anyone running an external crank sensor on their C20XE who hasn’t got the Pace sump? If so what have you done for crank sensor mounting please? Any pics would be great? I have a dta s40 ecu and the lead from it has a 3 pin plug on it so I assume I need to find a 3 pin sensor or will a 2 pin one work?

    Redtop Alternator Bracketry

Hi, Can anyone advise me what, if any suitable alternator bracket I can use on my 20XE engine. The alternator is faulty and i'm in the process of sourcing a more compact type, but I've seen pictures of a slight more compact bracket and would like some advice on what they are and where best to get one. I guess i'm looking at and new adjustment bar too, so again, any help and guidance would be most welcome Any pictures or links to pictures would be really helpful Alternator is fitted on the induction side and currently has virtually no adjustment

    Clutch release arm

Does anyone know the type of clutch release arm I need for a type 9 box on a C20XE engine? Is it just a standard type 9 one like can be bought from burton power? Mine had snapped in a previous ownership and had a makeshift repair. As the engine is out I want to replace the release arm whilst it’s easily accessed.

    Dry sump oil tank

Got my dry sump kit (went for TurboSport) now for the C20XE and so whilst the front end is fully stripped I’m planning the oil tank. I was going to go with placing in the usual triangle in front of passenger footwell. Just wondering who has what tank, where they got it etc. Do I need a splittable one? Appreciate your input on this guys. Regards

    Lifting eye size

    C20XE Inlet Manifold Angle

Hi all, I've made the decision to change my twin Weber 45's to TB's (getting tired of flat spots I just can't get dialled out) - going for a DanST setup but just need to confirm the angle of the inlet manifold so I can try and avoid cutting an even bigger hole in the bonnet.... Current manifold is from SBD and looks like this http://www.16vminiclub.com/showthread.php?t=23159 (though I don't use the large water outlet on mine). I thought it was 7 degrees but may be getting confused with 27 degrees - does anyone have one laying around they can check and measure angle and length
  7. Silly me - I forgot to take a photo of the cylinder head before dismantling it and now I'm not 100% sure which way round some of the camshaft caps go. I'm happy with the numbering and the end caps but the middle ones, especially on the exhaust side - do the numbers on the caps go nearest to the number on the head (so in effect the numbers on both inlet and exhaust are nearest the spark plug holes) - it's just that the front cap on the exhaust side doesn't conform to that layout but then the far end cap does (iyswim) Also, I assume only the end caps have those sleeves on the studs -

    XE Parts Needed

Howdy folks After being the lucky buyer of Dave Eastwood's XE engine, I'm after a few parts to complete the set and start the installation. The bits I need are as follows: Flywheel Clutch and clutch cover (for type 9) XE to type 9 bellhousing (either short or long input shaft version, vertical) Solid engine mounts Alternator (standard or lightweight, obviously lightweight preferred!) Exhaust manifold I'm open to pretty much anything at this point as I just want to get cracking with it, so please let me know if you have any suitable spares, whatever they may be! Thanks in advance B

    Cam Infill 20XE C20XE

Cam infill plate 20Xe / C20Xe Suits early pulley arrangement, Verniers & Dry sump set up. I kept it as a spare but no longer need it. Lower bolt position requires a M6 hole to be tapped in the oil Pump housing. £175 + postage
  12. Pre-emting cracked/porous head as I think it may be starting to go engine is a Vauchall 2.0 c20xe red top. As she is now Sorn'd, I checked her over after my last run out and there is starting to what looks like a build up of mayo in expansion tank. Nothing on engine oil cap. Having searched & read through most of the posts about it on here and the web I'm going to get to work hopefully sorting it over winter with a few steps. Flush the water out a few times, clean and drain all water and oil. 1. Check the Oil riser bolt in engine. (Clogged/Cracked has been seen as problem befo

Vauxhall X22XE crank and block (for C23XE conversion!)

A change of plan and going Honda power means that I'm no longer going to build the hybrid "C23XE" engine I'd originally planned to replace the current C20XE with. For those that don't know, the nnXE family of Vauxhall engines from thy late eighties through to the nineties contained many common parts, and so have a degree of interchangeability. The C23XE is (very loosely) a combination of the excellent Cosworth original design 16 Valve cylinder head from the classic C20XE along with low line wet sump - or I'd planned to use my existing dry sump. With an X22XE block and crank. This is th

    C20XE dry sump questions

Morning, Once again I'm drawing on WSCC knowledge... So thanks in advance for any help and apologies for the inevitable stupid questions! After a reasonable amount of development work on my car over the last few months, it's now been a couple of track days without any issues so upgradeitis (or maybe reliabilityitis in this case) has started to set in. The car has somewhere North of 220bhp @ 8300rpm limiter and I would like to make sure it stays that way! The wet sump at the moment is a shallow 'winged' one, with apparently high pressure oil pump (I've never seen less than 2 bar even at idl
