pete g
already told him about that will remind him in the morning cut the old one out and get it welded on
TIG Brother
The old oil drain has a steel keensert inside so it's much easier to have a new one fitted with some thing like an M12 thread put in and welded on. I'm using a -12 jic weld on, this means I dont have to keep worrying about washers when I change the oil.

darve
thanks the engine had an oil leak at the can sensor so the bell housing was covered in gods Knows how much ****e! I popped in to get a drink not thinking the wire wheel in the drill would make my face "look mouldy" as the wife put it

darve
errrmm where would that be??? when changing the spigot bearing, do you just use a suitably sized socked to drift it out the middle if the flywheel? can't find anything in the workshop manual thanks
Mooch
So - black engine, black panels, black chassis.....are you going to go for the Hitch Hikers Guide style black buttons that light up black when you press them? That block and gearbox are looking rather nice though

In your pic its the little triangular plinth just below and to the right of the rear most port. The number is stamped (lightly) into the top face. This is mine (note its the other side on a 1600) For the spiggot bearing just dirve it out with a socket
