KugaWestie
Had a day off today, half term and all that. I managed to get the cycle wings off and glass the bigheads in. I have never done any glassfibre work before, so quite pleased with the results. I am going to apply some underseal on the cycle wings when i finally fit them. Then I spent the majority of the rest of the day building Lego I managed to get back out there this evening, and sorted out the nosecone indicators, only to discover I do not have any M5 nylocks to fasten the indicator pods I also laid in the cold air feed for the air filter, I think I will cable tie this to the grille Next will be refitting the cycle wings and sorting out the button indicators for these
TIG Brother
You're indicator pods look like the older spec narrow pods Gary. If this is the case you may need some spacers to move them outwards and meet a dimensional requirement for the IVA.

Thanks Rick - is this 400mm maximum in from the outer edge of the front wheel to the outside edge of the light? Do they measure to the outer point of the light, centre or inner? Mark (smokey mow)
Thanks Rick - is this 400mm maximum in from the outer edge of the front wheel to the outside edge of the light? Do they measure to the outer point of the light, centre or inner? It's a maximum dimension so would be measured from the widest point of the car (which would be the back wheel arch) to the inside edge of the lamp reflector. I've got some spacers here If you need some want to borrow them for IVA but I'd be needing them back again after.

Can you pop them in the post to my home address please?
KugaWestie
Been out tonight, but managed a coat of underseal on the front wings before I went out, and a second coat when I got back They are ready for button indicators and final fitting now
Mark (smokey mow)
You're a brave man, I'd imagine they'd be hell to pay if you got underseal on the laminate flooring

KugaWestie
With the wife away on a hen weekend, I am going to struggle a bit with progress as I have my two boys to look after. I managed to get a bit done after they went to bed. I fitted the offside cycle wing and button indicator. Wiring in the button and getting the cables nice and tidy was a fiddly job that seemed to take ages. I have still got the nearside one to do. On the positive side, the bighead fastening system has worked very nicely.
s2rrr
Kuga, Have you got the plastic covers to go over your rack extensions for IVA, Westfield supplied mine with the rack but they may be getting harder to source now. Nice wings did you stick the wires to the underside of the wing, I araldited them in, into a section of sleeving but don't think they will come off without some serious tinkering. Just hope they never fail As you say fiddly but nicely out of sight. Bob
KugaWestie
Yeah I have got the steering rack covers, I will put them on when I do the Geo. I run the cables in a bit of convoluted tubing and held that in Place with a P clip fitted onto the bugbear fixing bolt

KugaWestie
I got the other cycle wing on this morning. I then refitted the coolant pipework, with a slight mod. I have discarded the Westfield Aluminium pipe and run some silicone hose instead. I am pretty much there with everything in front of the scuttle now, apart from some tidying up. I guess there was an itch I needed to scratch, so I filled the engine with oil, filled up the cooling system, and gave her a turn over :d It sounds great now the exhaust is all in place
