Charlie - Yorksboys.
OK, - that's cool , - was by no means a criticism! I know it will be a difficult time for the committee sorting this out and am sure the right outcome will prevail. Hope you're well.
nlash
that one was not driven properly from what i saw it was very very slow and everyone was going past it!!!! my lad (13 yrs) could have lapped quicker than some of the guys trying to drive that one. ALL THE GEAR AND NO IDEA springs to mind. These comments are not in the true spirit of trackdays and their purpose, it would be good to follow Martin's example
Blatman
Mine was supposed to be humourous, and did include the devil emoticon to help show that I was being devilish. Trust me, I've heard *all* the track day reasonings for car A being slower than car B before, so I *know* that it has nothing to do with anything at all. It's not my fault the phrase is being misinterpreted, so it stays...

Mark Stanton
OK, - that's cool , - was by no means a criticism! No problem Mr A - Just trying to pick the bones out of comments posted that seem to appear by all the "experts" that have organised track days themselves and file away the comments from those that were not even present last Friday Thankfully some very well prepared reports and comments from those present have also been e-mailed through
the passenger
I attended the Mallory Park event as a passenger and appreciater of Westfields (I don't own one myself due to other financial commitments but class my other halfs Westfield as my 'baby'! and it seems a shame that following what was essentially an enjoyable day there seems to be a lot of back biting about who did what to whom/marshalls and anything else that could be complained about. People do need to be aware of other drivers and take care to check mirrors etc etc. I know someone mentioned before that it is difficult to check mirrors whilst driving at 95mph out of Gerrards bend, but really it is just as important to check mirrors as to push the limits of your car, thats what makes the good drivers better and if you can't manage both then maybe you shouldn't be driving as fast. I feel I can say this (without the intention to offend anyone) because I know that I don't consider myself an experienced or good enough driver to safely do everything I would normally do on the roads but at considerably higher speeds or trickier driving conditions like those encountered on the track. The bottom line is (as already stated by Mark) that people need to remember that the event was intended to be an exhilarating day for all regardless of experience or engine size. Novice drivers need to be aware of their limitations (everyone has got to start somewhere) and experienced drivers need to have a more mature attitude and guide people without as much experience as them rather than start slanging matches over the website. Remember that 2 guys had their cars badly damaged - one I believe being a write-off. Lets all take a deep breath before going on track next time and maybe we can avoid accidents and arguments and have a fantastic day!
Ray Grilli
Andrew - thanks for the excellent pic of me at the hairpin.... A good day on my part, a real shame about the fairly major incident between the two cars at Gerards. Ray Grilli (Q982GVC)
