Just got back from Harrogate - glad I did n't take the westy, it poured down on the way there and back. I thought the show was a bit disappointing really.

I don't think they could have got the WSCC stand much further away from the main area unless they put it on the A1   :bangshead:

There was a monster truck preparing to crush some scrap cars & the guys on the Robin Hood club stand were looking a bit worried  :p  :p  :D  :D  :D  :D

Don't think I would bother going to Harrogate show again judging by todays experience.

John.

sorry to dissagree with you john - due to really hard circumstances we had to do the best we could with very awkward people breathing down our necks - the amount of effort put in by some people just to keep the westy stand THERE was worthy of more than

'I thought the show was a bit disappointing really. '

the hall is small and does cost a lot of money to rent from the show ground - westfield as a manufacturer have never really done much in the way to promote the sale of new cars in my opinion leave much of the work to the likes of me and you - kit car owners, to spend wads of cash in organising such events. i myself spend over £100 on supplying alcohol and food to people who braved the weather in tents - put tents up in the rain - brought out club banners - posts - and basically set the stand up for the rest of the weekend - thanks must go to si and michele for their fab DJ skills - lol emma and stu for suppling warm drinks - playstations...

just got to say thanks to the people who braved the weather and had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend - despite being wet at times.

we also made sure that after every westfield car had left we cleared up all the mess left behind so as there might be a chance you can all come again next year..

:)

A good turn out by the WSSC folks as usual.

:sheep:  :sheep:

I think the shows worth attending to see WSSC people and thier cars: Not like some of the old bed iron on wheels, where do some of the folks get MOT's done, or do they not bother.

NOT LONG TO GO FOR LEMANS 2006 :D  :D

Thanks for a fun if wet weekend getting the required miles on me engine 265miles up to harrogate with an enjoyable blat with Cam, Neil and Dean with a meet up with Mr Houghton cracking roads we have to do the route again in the dry.Bit long at seven hours in the drivers seat in total but it will get me ready for long drives in the states.

Then 241miles and 4 hours home so a total of 506 miles in 2 days and 950 now on the car in a week.

And another 350 to do on tuesday to see Jill Judd.

Top hospitality from the wscc party machine see you all at Donny.

Sorry guys think you mis understood my remarks re the WSCC stand. I realise it was n't the clubs choice and my remarks were intended for the show organisers not the WSCC.

I stand by my opinion of the show itself, but appreciate the people lucky enough to be able to stay over had a great time, but I suspect this had very little to do with anything to do with show had to offer and more to do with the socialising and alcohol.

Looking forward to sampling the hospitality at Donnington :D

As one of the "lucky" people who stayed over, I agree the show was absolutely rubbish, however, the wonderful WSCC people make it worth turning up!   :t-up:  :t-up:  :t-up:

Had a great blat there and back with 2 different Manc/Lancs groups. Good to meet the usual suspects from wscc (and some new ones).

The show itself was not as good as I was expecting (good turn out from wscc though  ) and worth the trip just to see Barry Ashcrofts creation :0

Shame I couldn't do the Sat Night but you gotta give the liver a rest sometimes :p
