They didn't need any encouragement, come to think of it, nor did the rest of us!

My thoughts on the weekend in general are that we'd have had just as good a show in a deserted field somewhere.   It's a shame the organisers seem to think that after one warm, sunny show where a few more people showed up than usual that they can start to lord it over the people who make the show less of an abject failure than it otherwise would be.

A few intolerant punters who felt a little put out by some noise caused by people who actually go there to socialise - we are after all, a national club, and inevitably use occasions like these shows to re-establish friendships, and enjoy a fun weekend - caused what in my opinion was a very unacceptable over reaction.

If the organisers take the same kind of attitude in the future, I do not expect we will support them in any way shape or form.   Their adertising literature stated that there would be 100+ Westfields in attendance which does make you wonder why they then made every effort to exclude us.   I am told that if we boycott the event, then the manufacturers would be likely to follow suit.

One thing of which I am certain - without us, the show would have been a very lack lustre event indeed because we clearly had the largest display of well built, superbly turned out cars (Mine being an exception of course ;) )

Neil I concour with all your comments and agree that we SHOULD have a show in the middle of a field somewhere.

we would have a brilliant time and Mark could say he had got drunk in another field. :D  :D  :D  :D

I only go to the shows for the social stuff! I don't think there are a whole lot of people who would turn up to every show if it wasn't for the social stuff, and quite obviously most Westfield type people enjoy the evening entertainment more than the show itself anyway (hence we could meet in an empty field and enjoy ourselves)

Thanks for the great company again folks!

Michele would now like to make her first boardroom posting ;)

Again thanks to all who joined us over the weekend.

I would also like to welcome new members Steve & Sue who joined the westfield party for the 1st time - hope to see you at the next event.

My thoughts are : these shows are for like minded people to get together and ENJOY! whether it be to talk cars , look for spare's  or just to meet other club - members - not just by

posting on websites. Alot of the same faces are at these get togethers and i am always happy to see them - but would like to see a few more!!!!!!!

Also all you girls out there - its not just for the Guys! To name a few requlars

Ask kaz , Emma , Dawn, Emma 1, Kirstin & Michelle.

Hope to see you all soon - party on!!!!

Michele

Ps.

dax & xena will be there to keep you all in check.

Our dogs are now famed for there security talents - they are

to be featured in the Robin Hood club magazine.

Excellent news on the "in field drinking" event. Let me know the field and I'll bring enought paint to paint every cow in it.

I'm really disappointed with the weather...it mean't my westy stayed in Norfolk while I went to Harrogate in the tin top.  Non really what I wanted but a wise decision none the less.

I'd like to thank all those who made another excellent effort to make the saturday evening so drunkenly enjoyable....sorry I retired to my tent just after midnight    but I was no longer able to partake in verbal communication

The show was okayish..but it's the WSCC spirit that make these events well worth attending  :t-up:
