@Gary (KugaWestie) - North Oxfordshire AO Where did you get your roller door from? Any good and how much? PM if you prefer to keep price off screen (it was £30 darling...)

I am happy with them for the cost.

So the reason I mentioned the roller door was because my wife thinks it’s a good idea as it will make getting trailer in and out much easier. She even offered to go halfers on it. Result.

So I mentioned that “one of the lads” recently fitted the type we were looking at for his Cobra build. “What’s a Cobra” she says.

So I show her a pic and now she wants me to build one!

Sadly spare cash and garage space dictate this can’t be done unless I sell the Westy.

So maybe when I retire - maybe...

Anyway, back on topic...........

The new Fulcrum pins and special washers arrived today

So I have loosely fitted the lower wishbones, final torque up will be later when the car is close to kerbside weight

I am waiting for some replacement bolts to come for the front suspension, but I did have a rummage around in my imperial tray and found some nuts and bolts suitable for the front coilovers, so I hung them on loosely tonight

Front corners almost complete. I need to drop the hubs back off to fit the discs. All the bolts are loose at present, final torque up will be later

Looking good.

Must confess to slight feelings of envy that you are at the ‘bolting shiny bits on’ stage already.

This afternoon I moved to the rear of the car, and after a monumental battle I got the diff fitted complete with the wishbones. The battle involved some angle grinder work as after fitting the diff the first time I realised it was binding on a weld on the chassis, so I needed to trim this down a bit and then start again with the fitting

Pressing the needle bearings into the wishbones

A spacer tube then goes through those needle bearings, but they needed some tlc first

Before and after, cleaned up with a flap wheel

And after two hours of grunting, sweating and swearing, job done

The diff is that heavy I could not lift it, I had to wiggle it onto a jack

It’s really coming along, always looks so much better when you finish building up the suspension on an end.
