Richard (OldStager)
A lot of these so called anti-vaxxers use any reason to dismiss it, so these stories get more media coverage than all the folks who never had any issues, they are right up there with flat earthers and moon landing deniers. Steve (sdh2903)
It does whiff a little of the EU wanting to cast doubts on the UK developed vaccine post Brexit. The blood clotting apparently has occured around 30 times in over 5 million doses. Which is below normal levels.

Steve (sdh2903)
Bumper week of doses coming. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-56407251 As much as the government have made big mistakes throughout this pandemic. They seem to have done well with the rollout.

I read it was 30 times in 17 million doses with zero proof the injections caused it. Even if they did, I’d still get the jab with those odds compared to the odds and consequences of getting Covid. Richard (OldStager)
If the lottery had odds like that, I 'd be buying tickets every week 😁

Richard (OldStager)
The UK alone has 1843 deaths per one million from covid, so at 30 in 17 million, the decision not to use the AZ one is plain nuts. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Very efficient, in and out in 15 minutes. Had to wait 15 minutes as I was driving, but could wait in the car. I had the AZ vaccine, felt like I was getting a cold on Saturday afternoon, but quickly passed. Arm aching a bit now where the injection was, but it's a needle in the arm, it's going to cause a bruise of some sort. Glad I've had it. Want to get back to the "old normal" soon.

ianali
Had mine today same time as Ali, my wife. All good so far 👍. Was a good day considering I had a needle stuck in me. We were jabbed at Stoneleigh which gave us a lovely little half hour drive out.

The A V community just make it worse. I agree too. Sounds like a bad case of post Brexit cutting-noses-off-to-spite-faces. The one thing I think we should all be proud of is the unbelievable progress that has been made with the vaccine roll-out. I don't care what colours are pinned to what flags politically speaking, the NHS has done an absolutely outstanding job and proved itself (as it so often does) to be in a class of it's own when it comes to the health of the nation. Thankfully I am not a frequent visitor to NHS facilities and from what one sees in the media, it's a disaster. The reality seems to be quite different at the moment. On the subject of Covid reporting it is the media that looks to be the disaster. Lazy reporting, political bias and hyperbole surrounding plainly ridiculous story's (and they are story's...) and generally not reporting some nuts and bolts facts, instead couching facts in pseudo science and belief (as if facts and science is a belief system) make them look out of touch and a little bit ridiculous, I wonder if they'll ever notice...
Richard (OldStager)
All agreed , I refer back a few posts ago, all the idiots die off and we are left with folks who are science savvy and perhaps a bit more skeptical of certain media outlets. The EU are failing their citizens hugely, feel very sorry for everyone of them.
Blatman
There will be lots of Brexit chest beating about this but for me, in or out, we would still have done this better than just about any other country in the world.
Richard (OldStager)
I must admit myself to the way the NHS has handled all this in light of the what, 10 years of Gov austerity, maybe just maybe the Gov will now realise what an important institution the NHS is and perhaps pay the staff correctly. I for one was disgusted at the budget and their response to pay rises for NHS staff.
