Imagine the panic for big roll with a @corsechris style lockdown. Now then, there’s no need for that kind of language Steve, I thought we were friends! An MP? Nope, but if asked very nicely, I might consent to becoming a Dictator or possibly a Despot. Speaking of MPs, it seems Captain Hindsight appears to have taken the term ‘opposition leader’ to simply mean contrarian. I have no doubt that if Boris had said 2 weeks of lockdown, Mr S would be crying about the costs and demanding 200% wages for everyone. I am so p******** of with politicians. We really, really need leaders, not the sort of points scoring and Monty Python 5 minute argument bulls*** we’ve got.

DonPeffers
Prof Whitty not convinced by tier 3 effectiveness. https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-professor-chris-whitty-admits-tier-3-rules-not-sufficient-on-their-own-to-limit-covid-19-12102767 "The highest level of restrictions in England's new three-tier local lockdown system "will not be sufficient" to slow COVID-19 infections alone, England's chief medical officer has said." Looking into Scotland's position with 3.4 Mn citizens currently in circuit-breaker lockdown. From 24 mar 2020 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-52022833 "Scottish NHS to quadruple intensive care beds" "Ms Freeman later told the Scottish Parliament that "good progress" was being made on expanding intensive care unit (ICU) capacity, with space being freed up to quadruple the number of ICU beds to over 700". https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-daily-data-for-scotland/ Scottish numbers: 15 October 2020...1,351 new cases of COVID-19 reported; this is 17.6%* of newly tested individuals 13 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive. 51 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19 601 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19... . 14 oct 2020 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-54541328 "Nicola Sturgeon has warned that coronavirus is not just killing elderly people as she announced that a further 15 people have died after testing positive for the virus. The first minister said about half of the newly recorded deaths were people under the age of 80. A "small number" were under the age of 60, she added". QUESTION-----why twelve words when two numbers suffice? "about half of the newly recorded deaths were people" under the age of 80 (This suggests 7 out of 15) AND "A small number" were under the age of 60 (might suggest 2 out of the 7). Also were the patients admitted with covid (or diagnosed 7 days later) and did they have underlying conditions? Any chance of plain facts? =====================
