robhume Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 I've decided to turn my sprint car into a temporary essential shopping car but there is no spare wheel, so what is the best/easiest puncture repair kit to go for Quote
robhume Posted May 2, 2020 Author Posted May 2, 2020 Thanks guys, I checked out the video and looks to be problem free. Thank you Quote
Burgerbob Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 I carry Holt's tyre weld. Never had to use it, but it's cheap, doesn't need a pump so more compact, and apparently it can be washed out of the tyre so a proper repair can still be done. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Holts-HT3YA-Tyreweld-400ml/dp/B000Y8WB8W 2 1 Quote
CraigHew Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Wow, just had a look at your link, its on offer at £3.50..... Quote

1960dave Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 If you use that nobody will want to repair the puncture afterwards have you seen the mess it makes inside the tyre. I used it once and it took 30 minutes to power wash the rubbish out. I now only use these https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/benson-car-tyre-repair-set-27pc-553991400?type=shopping&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtLT1BRD9ARIsAMH3BtWg7mgS1dVyIZG1XLRey2YU3L73eD_BMZt549F4Nla6X_-VRLPNNVkaAuU5EALw_wcB and you can use them more than once as there are a few plugs in the pack. Yeah, I think I might have seen a can in the Sigma. I don’t know if it’s changed in recent years, (formulas for many things have), not a great fan of spraying gloop inside the tyres and effectively writing them off. (Though I’ve a feeling Tyre Weld might be one that some tyre places will clean off, can’t remember for sure. I do recall Matt Seabrook, years ago, telling us how nasty some of the chemicals in tyre sealers could be though!) This was a good reminder though. I’ve dug out the old Crafty Plugger kit I got for my last Westfield years ago, on @Blatman recommendation of the time. Have just ordered some fresh CO2 cartridges though, to pump the tyres back up! As mine are ten years old or so. - It’s a dry temporary fix for roadside use, that still allows a tyre place to mend the tyre, if it’s that type of puncture. 1 Quote
