CrisisWolf Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Motorsport Events released their Abingdon dates in the last few days (according to FB) I didn't make any in 2016 (did some at Combe) but did with several of you on here in 2014 and 2015. Any interest for any dates (or not certain ones - I know I can't do a few) Fri 24th Feb Fri 24th Mar Fri 28th Apr Fri 19th May Fri 23rd Jun Fri 14th Jul Fri 4th Aug Fri 22nd Sep Fri 6th Oct Fri 10th Nov Fri 1st Dec All £135 Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Thanks for that Richard. I did no track days last year at all mainly because my son, who's the prime mover in getting off the backside and booking, moved to Sydney. Also we had medical difficulties at home which would have made booking anything risky. I might well take the opportunity this year, though, before even Abingdon disappears off the list of venues. I see the price has gone up anyway. We'll see... Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I'm up for doing one as I've a credit with them to use, Quote
mr_mcp Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I'd be game for one of these when the weather shapes up. Do they have a noise limit? Quote
Dommo Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 100db at 0.5m, 3/4 rpm. No drive by tests. 1 Quote
the stoat Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I will be doing a few assuming I can fix my noise issue. Quote

Dommo Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 No he cheats and goes quick around the corners. He's thus banned from going quick down the straights. Besides without his increasingly frustrated look trying to get through the noise test what will we laugh at before the safety briefing each time? 1 Quote
Thrustyjust Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Got to sort a couple of crash hats first but may have a go. Quote

Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 MSE rents helmets for about a tenner a day anyway. Quote
andyismilesaway Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 How would Abingdon be as a first (Westfield) track day? I see it's airfield rather than track with barriers etc - which I guess is good... Also I guess no tuition on these days? I hadn't realised quite how close Abingdon is to me vs somewhere like Bliyton. Quote

I did about 3 airfield days as my first track days in my Westfield so I can recommend it as a good entry route - both for you and the car. If we get a group from the club to go (I think its 10-12 or more, the website says more) we get 1 free tuition each but you can buy them in advance and on top of this. Quote
CrisisWolf Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 In hindsight I should have done this as a poll to gauge what days most people can do - opps. I can only do these 5: Fri 28th Apr Fri 23rd Jun Fri 14th Jul Fri 22nd Sep Fri 6th Oct Quote

I did a session with Erling Jensen who was a close friend of John Button and whose name is why Jenson Button is so named. Presumably he's still there? Quote
