The journey has begun. Thanks to @Ali Jones and Gail for a great day out in the Peak District today. The scenery wasn't bad, but no comparison to what you are heading for, so please don't forget to share it with us on here.

Have a brilliant time everyone :t-up:

Been up since 5 washing and ironing. Bag is packed and rearing to go. Weather is beautiful this morning and it would be brilliant if it stayed like this.

I am say nothing this year Gary.

Left home this morning at stupid o clock with glorious sunshine. Roads where empty and I just chugged along at my hears content.

I have done more miles this morning than I have since November and it feels like the weight of the world is off my shoulders.

Just sat eating breakfast and on my way to meet great friends.

What a fantastic start and loving every minute.

What a fantastic day.

Met up with friends old and new and everyone is really getting on.

The sun has shone all day and we have all caught the sun.

Roads where empty all the way and we got here at 7.00pm and then went for tea and a walk.

I took a couple of wrong turns which was my own fault but its been a really good trip.

The B&B is really lovely and the hosts are very welcoming.

Its really clean and this bed is so comfortable.

Food at the local hotel that I moved about last year has vastly improved as they got rid of the manager from last year and it was well priced, clean and tasty.

Its 10.10pm and its still daylight and the sky is a beautiful pink.

Looking forward to tomorrow already and we will also be meeting up with Bob and Lorna.

So we've blatted through the Pennines, up through Kielder Forest, cross country to Edinburgh then finally finishing at Glen Coe with some fantastic scenery along the way. Good thing is we get to do it all again tomorrow. I might just need to throw a bucket of water over Geoffrey and Gary! I think that the have missed each other alot.

Great route north today Geoffrey. See you at breakfast.
