Quinten Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 Hi Q The clutch is off a Mondeo Mk1 1800 16v - early ones have the correct 23 splines you need and correct dia for the flywheel which will be off a 1.8 focus (lighter than 2.0) both will be 220mm dia. You need a spigot bearing - but that will probably still be in the crank on the new engine if it came out of another Westy. The clutch release bearing is a QH CCT133 If you want to spend more money, look at getting a lighter flywheel - mine's a billet steel one from Ginetta that weights about 3.5kg and the car spins up a treat! Cheers Chris, it's good to know what I should look for when trying to find what works or not. I can only find non OEM clutch kits, so may have to visit a Ford dealer and see if they can still provide a price/supply. With regards to the Focus, do you know what Mk it should be? Mk1 as well? Not sure if the spigot bearing is included (had to google what it is ) but if it is on the crank on the engine, then I would imagine it is included. I used rmp1305 and the associated heavy duty plate and release rmp1772 and rmp1706 From dunnel None of this p******** about which a one off this or that. Used with ecb113 from Burton Short and to the point, eh? I make that this, this, this and this then? Quote
congorobot Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 You could also try Retro Ford. They supplied everything I needed clutch/flywheel/bearings for my recent Zetec/type 9 instalation. Quote
Kingster Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I'll try and dig out details of the ones I got prior to using the light flywheel as long as Dom promises not to tell me off 1 Quote

congorobot Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I don't suppose you still have your 'shopping' list from them? Ive had a quick look in my emails but dont seem to have an order invoice. The flywheel was: http://www.retro-ford.co.uk/shop/node/174 As for the other parts required they will be able to tell you, as they did for me. 1 Quote
Quinten Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 Oof, that is nice... at a price... Maybe next year Quote
Kingster Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 That's like the one I have, but mine suits the 220mm Mondeo clutch - I believe the Pinto clutch needs the mounting holes drilling out (or something??) I have a new clutch and flywheel that came off my crate Zetec - but pretty sure it's wrong splines and positive its stupidly heavy! Checked the 'bay for the kit I bought originally, but listings are too old - so all I can offer is the following info: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clutch-for-FORD-Mondeo-Mk1-93-96-1-8-16v-2-piece-kit-1796cc-8-94-7-96-2-Pie-/361708212769?hash=item54377d5221:g:dmEAAOSwgmJXxyJG this will fit - 220mm with 23 splines Can't find a flywheel but is a Ford zetec off an early mondeo/escort/fiesta 1.8 - but not a zetec turbo - 220mm and with trigger holes on the back. 1 Quote
tisme Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I've found these guys good for tuning parts (VX and Ford) - near Bedford so can save on postage..... http://www.turbosport.net/acatalog/Zetec_engine_parts.html I sort of agree with the idea of getting all the parts from one source - I nearly did that with QED but in the end I probably saved over £500 by shopping around (for identical parts - just often cheaper elsewhere). Apart from the cost saving it also helps you to understand how everything works and fits together (though keep a list of things in a spreadsheet for later !!) 1 Quote
dombanks Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Can't guarantee that Chris .. blame the physicists at the mo your right about the mounting holes tho. Quinten they look right to me. But best ask dunnel before you order as they are generally great at advice. I think they even sent a new set of bolts for the flywheel 1 Quote
Kingster Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Not sure if this ad is for a std Blacktop flywheel/clutch or one suited to RWD, but as it had a Raceline sump, you'd think it will be correct - http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/121285-20-blacktop-raceline-sump-raceline-water-rail-and-other-parts/ Quote
tisme Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 What do you plan to do with the rest of the car ?? 1 Quote
Quinten Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 Especially for you Colin, here's one half of the V8 in that car Quote
garytipping Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Hi Quinten, I might be interested in some of your crossflow bits, when you start the conversion. Cheers Gary Quote
