Dear Members, The Club invites you to join the 2025 Lakes and Dales Tour tour which is a 2-day event covering 250 miles of the best roads in the Lakes and Dales 😎 Following last year’s successful TLWN2 tour The Club has decided to organise another club road trip for 2025! We invite you to join the 2025 Lakes and Dales Tour which is primarily a two-day event being Monday 23rd / Tuesday 24th June (less tourist traffic than a weekend!!) but will lap over into the Sunday prior to Wednesday after for Club members travelling to/from the start/finish points, especially for those travelling long distances. Monday will be ‘’The Lakes Day’’ 130 miles (4.5 hours) driving around the beautiful Lake District National Park. Tuesday will be ‘’The Dales Day’’ 135 miles (4.5 hours) driving around the wonderful Yorkshire Dales National Park. Both days start (9am) and finish in Kendal with the drives out, including various stops for lunch and fuel etc, returning to the start point (Travelodge Kendal Town Centre). The Club will provide route guidance for this event as well as promotional clothing and stickers. Monday evening will be a social stay over in Kendal. If you are interested and want to participate in this event you must book your own accommodation. We advise booking Monday night accommodation (also consider adding Sunday before & Tuesday after) at Travelodge Kendal Town Centre, Riverside Place, LA9 7FW which is a good option with underground parking. However, you are free to book your own accommodation wherever you wish. Please let @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator know you want to participate so we can keep a tab of numbers, there is no cost for members to participate in this event, just your accommodation, food and fuel Further information/route’s etc will be published here in due course. Please note this is a non-competitive event! Thanks WSCC Events Team. Well, I didn't think it would be this quick - but the time has come. I know BEC's don't tend to sell too well on here, but i thought i would give it a go anyway. Will also be on eBay shortly. Ad below, straight copy and paste for what I have written for elsewhere..... I know this couldn't be advertised at a worse time of year, but having realised that I’ve lost the love for it, it’s time for a change. A bit of background to start, I bought it in March 2023 knowing it was mechanically spot on, but it needed some cosmetic TLC. I drove it for the spring/summer of 23 with the intention to strip it down over the winter and spend some time and money making it mint. It took longer than I expected and I finally completed it in September 24. Below is the spec and the work I have completed in my ownership. 2004 Westfield Megablade ZX10R, freshly painted in Wimbledon White with BRG stripe. 2007 ZX10R Gen 2 motor, 175bhp (weighs circa 460kg), revs to 13k and pulls very well. MAC airbox. Gearbox refurbed prior to my ownership as it kept popping out of 4th gear. Power commander speedo healer to standard ZX10R clocks. The clocks were fitted with 20k on them prior to my ownership. I would estimate it has no more than 5k miles on it in total, you can check the online MOT history if you like. No reverse as they are all pretty crap. I had a Quaife one in a previous car and it was clunky, don't even entertain the electric ones as they are even worse. I can push it around with ease. Sierra (7”) 3.38 diff with LSD. I have a litre of oil that i haven't had a chance to put in it. Coolex radiator. Does not get over 100 degrees, even in town in the summer. Lightweight battery with FIA cut off. Solid M16 brakes with AP master cylinder. Discs on the rear, Westfield hubs. Quick rack, 2.1 lock to lock, refurbed and new Powerflex mounts. Carbon kevlar panels throughout, floor, transmission tunnel, bulkhead and boot. Interior is carpeted (not that it does a lot!). GI Pro gear indicator. JK Composite seats with Schroth harnesses (not in date) - I fitted a 6 point (anti sub belt) to the passenger seat so my daughter could come out with me. Easily removed if required. Repackable exhaust, I took the wadding out for a few days and it is mental. It's now fully packed and most of the noise is induction. Fire extinguisher. Carbon NV cycle wings (new) Carbon NV arch covers (new) Carbon Aeroscreen painted gloss black. F1 style mirrors. GRP dash (I had intended to change this to a carbon one). OMP flat bottom wheel with quick release and OMP 50mm spacer. Wema fuel gauge and sender (new). Front wishbones refurbished, new powder coat and polybushes. New ball joints and drag links. Protech shocks refreshed and springs powder coated. Uprights stripped and repainted. Steering column stripped and repainted. New front wheel bearings. Body stripped and repainted in Wimbledon white with BRG stripe, backed with a generous coat of stone chip to alleviate any potential crazing. New rubber bonnet mounts & catches. New nosecone grille and westfield badge colour matched to body. Bonnet vents redone. LED headlights. New side repeaters and front indicators. Headlight bowls stripped and painted gloss black. MOT friendly number plate is included. New rear lights, mounts and wiring connections, inc number plate light. New 7x13 & 6x13 superlights in go faster gold. Toyo R888R tyres all round. 205 rear, 185 front. Bad bits There are a few micro bubbles on the bonnet vinyl, i think it was too cold when i did it. I have enough spare for it to be redone. Starter motor is a bit noisy when cold, but starts on the button. I would get it corner weighted and set up, I had intended to do this but i’m only 80kg and it would be a waste of time if someone new is going to jump in it. I’m sure there are other bits I have forgotten, please feel free to ask if you have any questions. I completely understand that prices are depressed at this time of year. I'm not in a rush to sell, but at the same time, I could do with freeing up some space. The car is currently in storage to stop my wife nagging that it's an expensive ornament in the garage and getting in the way. Viewings will be at the storage facility and test drives will be with me driving. Price is £11.5k on here, will be up for £12k on eBay. I’d probably consider a P/X, but only for something interesting that doesn't have to stay in the garage. I'm based in Cwmbran, 10 mins north of Newport. Storage facility details will not be provided for obvious reasons. Thanks for looking. Darren1 point

Carbon zk nose Put some graft into this in the last 48 hours but the tooling is now complete! These are a mega style nose which have a deeper lower section to accommodate a oil cooler these fit in an identical way to a standard Zk nose Normally sketch with me Prepreg so light and strong this one in the picture has been clear coated but available uncoated for the more serious peddler who is looking to save every gram .1 point

Opel GT using a DeDion/transaxle designed for a Volvo or a Porsche? Nikpro said it best. A "well designed...". Now, there's nothing wroung with any of the options mentioned as they will be well designed, but they weren't designed for the Opel GT. As well as the significant challenge of making it all fit, things like weight distribution should be considered. I am not sure anyone has ever considered a transaxle on a 7 type vehicle as it could add a lot of weight the rear. The GT has different weight distribution so this may be less of an issue but this for me is a fundamental consideration. If it doesn't "balance" then suspension set up could be compromised just to make it drive adequately. If track work is in the pipeline it may never handle if the weight distribution is fundamentally wrong. Even Porsche took decades to square that circle...1 point

Just to clear a point up as I've had a couple of people ask the same thing in a week I offer the zk style nose in 2x different quality's first being what I call race quality and second is what I call "show" . Race quality isn't a seconds it a nose that come straight out the tooling it's been trimmed had a light Polish and then is being sold . Show quality is the same as the above but the nose has been prepared and cleared coated to have a super high gloss finish. Seconds are available some times but the will be listed has a "seconds" item A couple of pictures with follow of both quality's Ash1 point

Caketastic, what a sooooper start to the New Year. Agree with Big Andy, great company, shame we couldn't make the Westfield's work out but we had a good laugh. And yes @AndrewBClarke we were waiting for slow coach Westwood coming with the ginger and sticky toffee cake, he had to go for the gooeyist! We started at Carsington where it stopped raining as we arrived. The cafe was unusually very quiet and the Andy's and us were delighted to be joined by not only Hedley and Tony but then also Martin, that's what made the New Year even more sooooper. Our Hedley is a bundle of fun as shown here, never boring and never dull when Hedley's around! Glen kindly took a photo in the Mainsail Cafe at Carsington. The rain stayed off so we dropped the tops (some of us did anyway) and went a scenic run via Brassington, Longcliffe and over to Hassop. I don't think we have done that route in the Westfield's and on a dry day it will be excellent, although we drove most of it down the centre of the road to avoid the puddles (except Martin in the Volvo Tank that just ploughed through them having fun) The road was flooded at Quackers with a car stuck in the middle of it! There was a lot uf running water about and I was glad the lights were at red in Bakewell so I could quick whip my soft top up as it had started to drizzle, love the MX5 for that, it takes 2 seconds. The chat and banter continued in the cafe at Hassop and the cakes were in plentiful supply with Big Andy getting the biggest piece today and Westwood the gooeyist. The top was up for the journey home as it was still drizzling. Thank you to everyone for coming out today and making it a great social occasion, we still talked about Westfield's and it's important to keep it all going even when the weather is not favourable plus WE LOVE TO SEE YOU ALL XXXX More photo's, enjoy. Just in case you are wondering Big Andy's Azura Blue ST is a real Limited run Mk4, he tells me only 300 are in the UK, very beautiful and sounds the biz too. Happy New Year to you all, hope to see you soon xxxxx1 point

There seems to be at least one cake missing!! Only 5 pieces between 6? Are you on a post Christmas detox? With @Andy Westwood there maybe even 2 pieces missing as he has two at a time…..1 point

Oh wow I'm just catching up with this thread. Same here @Flying Carrot Steve I didn't even know going in from the top was a thing! Going to try it later in the comfort of my own private garage with no-one looking. If you never hear from me again, it didn't work 😂1 point

Why do I have images of Santa stuck in the top of a chimney in my head? Tbh it had never even entered my mind to try and get in via the top. It just looks a bit small to me. I find it fairly easy to get in via the side, I would have thought it even more easy for small or slim people. I am definitely going to have to try top entry now I've been told it seems to be the way most people do actually do it, so I stand corrected! Every day is a school day in Westfield World!1 point

Blimey, I'm gonna have to try this top entry system now! If I get stuck I'll blame you lot 😂1 point
