  2. Forgot to say - I’ll pop a post up in September with the menu choices and reservation details. If you want to stay over, may I suggest that early booking is essential - it was fully booked this year so get in early to avoid disappointment - we have already booked a room. Date is one week later than this year to avoid The Classic Car Show at the NEC. The Chatsworth House Christmas will be open together with their Christmas Market but you will need to be very quick to book once tickets have been released!! This is not a select group just a good location - open to any WSCC member plus guest.

  3. They're expecting it to be circa 800kg! It won't sound like a Honda at 9000rpm πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

  4. Westfield of old and their parent company Potenza (which was owned by Julian Turners father Frank) have built or been involved in more than a few designs of electric seven over the years. The first in the early 2000’s was Wisper. Which featured a composite chassis similar to the FW400. In 2010 was the 4wd hybrid built in collaboration with Warwick university and took part in the Goodwood festival of speed that same year. https://warwick.ac.uk/newsandevents/pressreleases/worldfirst_hybrid_westfield/ Later came the iracer in 2013 which originally was intended to race in the ev-cup which was planned as support series to formula e. The stretched Lycra body was an unusual feature. https://amp.theguardian.com/environment/damian-carrington-blog/2011/apr/28/electric-cars-motorsport-racing Finally there’s the Sport E which a few of us will have seen in recent years. https://westfield-sportscars.co.uk/blog/development-2/sport-e-10

  6. Last regular meeting of the year as next month will be the Christmas meal! Don't forget to bring some cash for the Christmas meal deposit (Β£5 per person) this month. The menu will available for choices too! Usual pub meet for Westfield related chat and winter upgrade plans. See you at The Falcon, Birmingham Road, Hatton, CV35 7HA from about 7.30pm.

  8. I can't open Facebook links, so can't see what this refers to, but don't forget that (Old) Westfield did build an electric Seven style car, essentially using the "normal" Westfield as a base. This would be in around the early 2010s. One actually competed in a few Speed Series events, and famously rolled at Curborough. They built 4 of them I believe, which oddly all belonged to Potenza, the parent company of (old) Westfield.

  9. The weight and lack of engine noise would be the bigger issue for me. Range of 150-200 miles would be fine for me.

  12. They are a fab engine. I have an MK which comes onto the rollers occasionally and it made 272hp last time on, and sounded superb!
