  2. I’ve not had a chance to do much on the car over the last months due to holidays but last weekend I took it along to the local car show and it attracted plenty of attention. Promotion of the race by the organisers is now also In full swing and it’s even made it onto their social media posts.

  4. Thank you @AndrewBClarke for arranging todays run around the Peaks , but I must say thanks to you all for letting the late comers catch up !!! Our day didn’t start very well due to the wonderful world of road closures 🤬 first the A38 was closed north bound after Lichfield and the detour was taking us back down the 38 and off towards Tamworth on the A51 !! So plan B was hatched to go out via the A515 , great until we got to Draycot under clay where it was also closed sending us to Uttoxeter , a quick phone call to say go without us and we’ll catch you at the Ramblers, then Andy said he’d turn on WhatsApp location so we could track and catch them, well we eventually did But we were going the wrong way 🤪 thanks for waiting while we did a U e it was a great drive thereafter. Pics from the co pilot Billy no mates looking for friends Being allowed to join in Getting your run up Wynats pass ruined 😡 Finally at the Ramblers Thanks all see you soon Andy & Becky

  8. I agree, I asked the same but his MOT guy is away for a couple of weeks, £500 off the asking price so a compromise but it looks healthy to be honest, there is no corrosion around the suspension or brakes so I feel confident of its condition.

  10. A small meeting today with only 4 people and 3 Westfields coming. We did have 2 new members joining us, welcome to @MGG and @Madfish. Hope we'll be seeing you again.

  11. Great run out this morning for a few of us, taking in some of the best roads around Somerset. Cloudy skies but no rain!

  12. It's what's called a dog point grub screw. As, like me, you're in Loughborough, I'd suggest trying either Charnwood Fasteners (my go-to supplier) on Prince William Road or GI Fasteners on Windmill Road Industrial Estate.

  14. Enjoyed chatting last night, good to see some familiar faces again. Arrived back at daughters and let her dog out and all hell broke loose. Seems dogs and hedgehogs are not a good mix.

  15. Its not uncommon to have the ECU mounted on the scuttle but not low down on the bulkhead

  16. Thanks 👍🤞 That's the plan at the moment. Car's having a new front end fitted by Siltech next week. Few other bits to repair, and it's not quite as straightforward as just bolting it all back together again but should have it done.

  17. Heading back home from Dartford to Crewkerne the other night in the tin top, a rather large black 4x4/truck roared up behind me on a dual carriageway section of the A303. I was travelling at a reasonable lick myself, and could not easily pull over to let him through as the left lane was busy. The traffic in front slowed a bit so he proceeded to repeatedly drop back then race up behind me to within about 6 inches of my bumper, flashing his lights, not pleasant. All I could do was maintain a steady pace and hope he didn’t actually ram me. After a while, I was able to pull into the inside lane safely and he overtook, then pulled in front and brake tested me; something I was fully expecting so was well prepared. This is where the story becomes more positive and faintly amusing. As he headed off towards a roundabout, a dark blue Volvo estate pulled alongside me, the passenger window came down and the guy indicated to me to slow down a bit ( I did say reasonable lick!) They then headed off keeping up with the truck but in a fairly subtle manner. As we came off the roundabout, there was a convenient lay-by and the blue lights came on the Volvo and Mr Big Truck was nicked! I made eye contact with the driver as he got out; I don’t like to gloat but it was a satisfying moment. I hope they did him for dangerous driving, as that’s what it was.

  18. Totally agree there Jeff. It was actually great to see a well driven police car (at speed), with guys who made a judgement call that a bit of advice to me was enough (which it was), whilst dealing with the real danger out there. I’m grateful to them.

  20. Car cut out within 0.25 mile of leaving this morning. 🫣 Lost a -ve to fuel pump, small child in the footwell and 2 hours of grief we finally made it to Cromer and back to Snettisham campsite.
