  1. After leaving the trailer sitting in the garden for the last 6-months, today I thought I’d better check the Costin actually fitted since I’ve got a car show coming up in a couple of weeks time. Also a good chance to give it a clean and take a few photos.

  2. Got out today to test how the recent exhaust manifold leak repair had gone, what can I say, it's faster than it was before and much nicer to drive, quieter too! Popped into a totally empty paddock at Castle Combe, The Flying Carrot takes podium position where it deserves to be 😂😂😂

  3. As another COViD evacuee 😉, I moved down to Crewkerne in Somerset from Walton-on-Thames two years ago (how time flies!) and since re-buying my old SEi a year ago I’ve been enjoying the fine company of the Dorset group meeting in Bridport. With Sean’s time now taken up with other activities, there is a chance for me to give being AO for Somerset and Devon a go so that we can hopefully get some meets going for those living further West in Devon and also further North in Somerset. It’s a huge area so we may have to be imaginative in terms of meet locations or satellite groups but I’m sure we can work something out. So first off, please post up here if you are in the Somerset & Devon area and interested in monthly meets, drive-outs or other events and we can go from there. Once I know where everyone is we can start making some plans. Thanks all 👍

  4. Im still moving forward with little jobs here and there while I try to find someone that can sort the bodywork for a reasonable cost. I needed a small spacer today to support a P-clip so turned this on the lathe and then milled the sides square so it would fit the existing bracket.

  5. Well done Stu. As per Jon’s comment, provided it doesn’t clash with Dorset I’m up for it. Some great roads over Exmoor.

  6. Thanks Chris. It’s a big area so I’m sure we will end up with runs in different areas and hopefully mixing between different groups where it suits. Dorset are having a run around Somerset this Saturday for instance which unfortunately I don’t think I can join. I suspect Devon are the guys that are missing out most so I’ll try to put some focus there.

  7. Stu, welcome to the AO club! We have a few members of Bristol & Bath that are Southerly and may wish to join you on your jaunts; I'll pass the message on and point them your way. Regards Chris

  12. Thanks Adge, Yep, will make sure I co-ordinate with your calendar to avoid clashes as much as possible or join up together when we can. Perhaps we can even arrange some bigger convoys up to the shows in future. I’ll still pop along to Bridport whenever I can if you’ll have me 😉

  13. At the start of the year I also bought a new trailer as I knew the Costin wouldn’t fit my old one. The access to my drive is quite tight which precludes using conventional car transporters unless I unhitch and then manually push it it. Fine if it’s empty but not so easy when fully loaded. I came across a small twin axle flatbed with the wheels under the bed but just needed to make a bar for the front to act as a wheel stop and to replace the headboard.

  18. It's been a while but I'm back with some results for you lovely people. Keep your foot to the metal (or Carbon if your rich) and get those scores on the doors. Results as per norm below. 3 Sisters - Results (Sun) Tiggs

  19. The V5 hasn’t given the name of previous registered keepers for a few years now. GDPR. No chance of them doing it if you enquire either unfortunately. Members on owners clubs are about your only chance now. Even the club officials themselves can’t legally give out any details they hold.

  23. I’ve not forgotten about this, it’s just there’s not much visible progress to show. I’ve reached the point of the engine bay wiring so other than crimping on lots of terminals and taping wires to various tubes to get the best route there’s nothing very exciting to look at and from a fleeting glance little change. I made up a small section of aluminium panel to mount the master switch so I could hold it in the right position to get cable lengths. The lower body will eventually need to be remade.

  24. Hi everyone I’m reluctantly putting up for sale my Westfield due to change in family circumstances. It’s an 1800 Zetec Seiw on twin webbers, an ex Toybox car which for the last year has been an absolute joy to own and drive. 12,800 miles on the clock and mot’d until June 2024. It’s been kept in a dry garage covered over. Comes with doors, half hood, all corresponding paperwork and original build guide and soft indoor car cover. Will be sad to see it leave but someone else will be able to use this more than I’m going to be able to
