Fair play to the tester - he didn't want to brake test on the rollers in case, being so light, it jumped off! So his backup plan was to reverse off down the long workshop then come tanking down it and hit the anchors! Good job they work I guess! I lucky to have a pragmatic, sensible MOT shop nearby!4 points

Thanks, I was 31, and as you can see it the weather was a bit unpredictable on the Sunday, odd bit of drizzle now and again. This was my first event and I had a great time, learned a lot. Top tip don't make a timing strut out of ABS, it snapped off on my first run. Had 40 mins to fabricate a replacement using an alloy plaque from the gift shop, bolt, cable ties and duct tape. Big thanks to the marshals who lent me a drill and tin snips.2 points

Ok we will let you off @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO but you can imagine my delight when I loaded up the photos and saw that I had snapped you cleaning your car2 points

In my defense, I did say "clean".... that was just a gentle wipe down to get off some of the cow manure you always kindly seem to find for us 😂2 points

Can I have your attention please? If you are going the the National Kit Car Show at Malvern and you can spare the club a short amount of time, please get in touch to offer your services. We need some extra volunteers, so if you enjoy reading this please reward me/the club by helping out. You will not only make new friends, you will make great memories too. Thank you x Back to today. Another thank you from me, to this man for all the hard work he put's in to bring everyone up from the Derby/Notts area. We are so glad @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO that 'you haven't cleaned your car in ages' 😲😛🤣 17 cars met at Quacker's and the feasting began... The bonnet's came off.... Some people sat in some funny places 😁 Next up, the driving began. Look carefully, the convoy goes back as far as the eye can see. The back roads were empty The sky was blue The villages were empty too The convoy stayed together right up to near the end when Glynn, Rob, Charlie and Timmy got stuck behind a tractor. Thankfully Glynn👍 knew where we were going and only a few minutes later they all arrived, in good time to clean the car too hey Rob!! At the Knockerdown @AndrewBClarke kept up the tradition and made us go to Adam's Happy Hen's on the way home for ice creams The star of the show today was not the cars though was it? It was this little cutey, Oliver, who was so very well behaved and made his dad proud. Well done Oliver! but stop looking longingly at that driver's seat, you are too young! Thank you so much everyone for coming today, including all the new guys and definitely all you oldies, you make our day XXX2 points

Here is a Westfield Gen3 Wide Track suspension. It includes the complete front setup with the Westfield supplied shocks, track rod ends, speed sensor, uprights and hubs along with some Hispec callipers. Rears are arms and shocks only. These was supplied by the factory for my kit in 2018 and have done 6000miles and 1 track day. Only reason for selling is due to upgraded to Siltech suspension. Few little marks on them as seen in photos but overall in good condition. Will just need new nuts and bolts as I binned these as I don’t like reusing used nuts and bolts. Open to offers, just want these out of the way now.1 point

My MOT guy puts an old school brake tester in the passenger foot well and goes for a little test drive, never failed a brake test!1 point

Second vid from me: Pete's very first session of the day.. his first drive at Croft since he last raced there in 2016, A Beemer at the start was a bit reluctant to let him by, and a dodgy fifth to second down change at Tower is in the mix.1 point

For a Mazda on track trackday, there wern't many MX5s.. I was expecting wall to wall Sassoons! 😀 First vid from me: My second session of the day.. first one was really just to clean up the brakes and warm the engine oil. A green rust free MX5 makes an appearance about half way through. 😉1 point

Not really the best of days for me yesterday if I'm honest.. During the first session it became apparrent the wheel vibration we had at the last outing at Brands nearly a year ago was still present. We thought it was badly balanced wheels or some sort of tyre problem ..nah, fresh tyres fitted and balanced, no different, back to the drawing board. Anyway, we were living with the wheel wobble, when in the afternoon it developed a misfire.. which got gradually worse as the afteroon went on. Tried swapping various components to no avail. It could have been a good day, as there was lots of fast stuff to play with. I'll put up a couple of vids from the morning before the misfire developed. Nice to meet folks, although Russ and @Simon Waterfall Syman84 were parked at the opposite end of the paddock, so didn't see much of them. Good luck for the weekend's racing chaps. A pic capturing the mood of the day.1 point

I read somewhere that because we present a small horizontal shape we are even less visible to the human eye than a bike.....1 point

How to annoy the wife. Travelling a step to far on low fuel. Then the dreaded a few miles from home. Still in safe hands parked here! The fuel gauge has given its highest read since ownership too!1 point

New brakes all round last night. The MOT man suggested they looked quite warn. The DS2500 rear pads have not lasted well on the rear. My thoughts were that the fronts being higher temp DS3000 is that the rears are doing more than they should when cold. But when I stripped the rear one side was ok, the other uneven ware, nearly metal to metal caused by the dimple in pad not being located in the piston calliper. My Mistake!.. This time I worked out how Sierra callipers work. Hand brake lever fully off. Screw the pistons in until they keep turning but all the way in. Fit the pads, reassemble. Brake a few times to push the pads out. Only then pull the handbrake. The DS3000 race pads had ate my front disks so new disks and a down grade to DS2500 which will be better suited to 99% of my driving, and work when cold. Since there is no Blyton club track day this year I’ll not need anything Raceier1 point

Good morning folks, Latest new member here….I’m the very proud owner of a 2012 FW my dear old Dad built meticulously a scarcely believable, decade ago…sadly we lost him last year and I will forever treasure what I saw him painstakingly build rivet by rivet. It is a wide body car, blacktop Zetec with Jenvey’s and the all too common Omex ecu. It has the sports brake kit (hi spec I think…) and a few other nice touches. I fully intend to refine and improve, starting with a proper rollcage, wider wishbones and a map (it has a real drinking problem) ive already indulged with a carbon diffuser from mofast, can’t wait to get that on! I would welcome any advice or guidance, particularly on the cage front as I do intend to do some trackdays etc and don’t trust the low level factory one, one bit. cheers Chris1 point

I’ve not forgotten about this, it’s just there’s not much visible progress to show. I’ve reached the point of the engine bay wiring so other than crimping on lots of terminals and taping wires to various tubes to get the best route there’s nothing very exciting to look at and from a fleeting glance little change. I made up a small section of aluminium panel to mount the master switch so I could hold it in the right position to get cable lengths. The lower body will eventually need to be remade.1 point
