After yesterday's wet weather shenanigans in the Peaks, last night a few of use decided to do a last minute Curborough meet as the forecast was a bit more civilised! Landing about 945, I had only a few minutes wait before being joined by @Glynn Walters, @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO , @HB46443, @Steve Bosworth, @neptune, @aeg, @jumbojackand @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO! In total we had 7 Westies and 3 AO's, quite a line up for "SORN Eve" 😂 Not much in the cake department here, but the cholesterol filled fare seemed to go down well 😂 After couple of hours of friendly banter, loads of bacon butties and watching some eventful track action we all headed home. Steve and Glynn decided to follow me for a fast blat past Catton Hall, through Rosliston to Swadlincote (where I peeled off to base camp) and then on their own up to Ticknall and Melbourne to enjoy some of South Derbyshires best driving roads... hope you enjoyed the drive guys, we are blessed with some fab tarmac in this neck of the woods 👍 A great morning, thanks to everyone for coming, hope to see you on the next one!4 points

The next part is the wing linkage. MSUK have been pretty clear that I won’t be allowed to run with an adjustable aerofoil and having it fitted to the roll hoop is also a big no from them but regardless of this the car had one fitted when on the stand at the 1969 Racing Car Show so I wanted to recreate the part for shows. The original parts have been lost in time other than the mounting bracket on the back stay but luckily the Pathe film shows it’s operation clearly enough for me to recreate the linkage and I have Costin’s geometry plots for the wing.4 points

I’ll begin this update with an apology, I didn’t think I’d done as much over the last few months as I have and yet I’ve failed to keep this thread updated. I’d been waiting on some parts from the powdercoaters, which to be fair to them they turned around pretty quickly, it was more to do with the fact it took me a few weeks to find a day to drop them off. I then had a big order to send to the platers. but waited until I was absolutely sure it was everything. While this was going on I was doing a few jobs here and there to keep things moving forward. Then today I took a step back and realised the last time I updated this build thread the car didn’t have any suspension fitted. So here’s a catch up of where I’m up to…. Seems you weren't alone in getting a bit damp! @HB46443, @Steve Bosworth and @Glynn Walters also suffered with excess moistness 😂2 points

On its own? I don't want to start selling parts from the car You can have it for £8500 and get a free car!2 points

Just call round. Only 16 miles from you in Horsington. Didn’t build mine but have done lots of things from changing seats and suspension to new fuel lines, pumps etc. With regards to garages for Mot. Try Fulletby Motors. They have done mine for several years and were very good at noticing hairline cracks in the chassis. Whilst not good to get a fail it was much better to find it than not and many would not. Either way a simple chat will cover more topics than you anticipate. Andrew2 points

Sorry. Details are not my forte! I assumed the meeting was tomorrow (Sunday). The penny has now dropped that it was today. Doh 😂2 points

Just acquired one of these from my local Lidl for £39.95. No idea how I've survived so long without one!!!! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225154711009?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338343596&toolid=10001&customid=eb%3Ag%3Avms%3Aeb%3Ap%3A225154711009%3BEAIaIQobChMI7sedzquI-wIV0u3tCh1uhAhyEAQYBCABEgK6WvD_BwE&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1R4cjAwE3S9izPvrNfc8tLg64&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7sedzquI-wIV0u3tCh1uhAhyEAQYBCABEgK6WvD_BwE1 point

@AndrewBClarke and @JamesGN are not far from you that may know some local places for MOT's etc. As @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO says, it's really quite satisfying doing things yourself (it seems daunting but is honestly not that hard!) plus the support, advice and help you'll get from the gurus on the forum and local members is amazing! A load of us have just helped @HB46443 (who by his own admission had limited mechanical knowledge) take a hugely complex engine (supercharged beast!) out of his car and refit it after a rebuild.1 point

The two people that live the furthest away were the two that came in their Westfield's, I take my woolly hat off to you both, well done Andrew and Rob, pictured outside The Strines Inn. We came in our MX5 and others came in their dailies too. When I saw that Tricky Richard had posted I must admit that I licked my lips, thinking ooo he will come in something interesting. He did not disappoint in his growling BM that had been 'done' putting out over 400bhp. There is a first time for everything and this was our first Poppy Puppy on a meet, bought along by Des and Debs, cute eh. The first fire of the winter season as shown by our model, Hedley This was us having a jolly good chin wag, a combination of 4 areas with 4 AO's. Yorkshire, Derby & Notts, Cheshire & N Staffs and Peak District, well done to all. A car meet isn't proper unless cake is involved so off we went to Bird Cafe for some goodies. I had Pear and Raspberry Crumble with custard, which I was impressed with until Andrew's arrived, with loads more custard which looked thicker and creamier too. @Andy Westwood @aeg Andrew Parked at Bird Cafe, so called because you watch the birds on the feeders by the river from the window. It has been great to all meet up and have a good chat, the weather could have been better but I don't think it could have been any warmer in October. We all agreed that the venue was excellent so watch out for another 'Multi Area Meet at The Strines Inn' coming in the Spring.1 point

https://www.t7design.co.uk/heating/water-heaters.html There are a few options here. If you don't need screen vents then it's an easier choice - take a look at what space you have behind the dash as retrofitting a heater is harder than fitting one during initial build.1 point
