I have had these for good many years driving, in tin top too. Look a bit pricey now, But great fit for me so would buy again. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/adidas-trackstar-xlt-performance-driving-shoes-1112066/?sku=ADDF63201-8&istCompanyId=a2904180-3a7d-4e56-b876-cf81c9512180&istFeedId=6fbc4b04-fd28-4ce1-8513-835c8f118690&istItemId=wptiwmart&istBid=t&gclid=CjwKCAjwwo-WBhAMEiwAV4dybcPk-sABfn-vVftPilk6qzsIKIJI1up1CLnhYSdUUySDUkBkzfgjhhoC_wMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds1 point

I bought the Lonsdale ones from sportsdirect to replace my aged Karrimor's and they are very light, had to go whole size bigger to fit properly but seem a nice shoe, only time will tell🤔 but nice and cheap. Try before you buy!1 point

To close out my choice .... I found a nice Fiesta. It's a 3 door in white, which is what my grandson wanted. The engine is 1.25 Zetec, and it drives nicely without being a ball of fire! Insurance is £1219, and won't go up when he passes his test.1 point

Piloti are good if you don't want to look like an absolute wet wipe down the pub. https://www.pilotiuk.co.uk/collections/mens-driving-shoes?page=21 point

Just casually browsing Ebay and noticed this seller, selling a few Westfield items. Location seems to suggest they either worked for, or supplied to the factory. Note, have no personal experience with him, so treat with caution please1 point

I have been using Skechers Diameter Vassel trainers for 12 years. You can get them for £40-50 if you shop around and they are narrow enough that I can get my 10.5 paddles onto the pedals without issues. They even cope pretty well with the heat from the underslung exhausts. I am on my third pair as I wear them generally, not just for driving, so they get a bit of hammer.1 point

I'm a cheapskate too, so I wear Lonsdale Camden - they are narrow, leather and have the desired rounded extended heel, and if you squint and blur your vision, they look just like Puma Speedcats, which I wanted but they don't make anymore. https://www.sportsdirect.com/lonsdale-camden-mens-trainers-110054 EDIT - it appears the Puma Speedcat is back by popular demand... https://uk.puma.com/uk/en/pd/speedcat-og-%2B-sparco-driving-shoes/307171.html?dwvar_307171_color=051 point

I usually wear Reeboks like these when driving the Westfield. I take a size 10 and my feet are about average width. https://www.reebok.co.uk/ex-o-fit-hi/3478.html?cm_mmc=ReebokSEM_GPS-_-GS-OPT-UK-medium stock-Categories-Branded-_-Medium Stock - Branded-_-PRODUCT_GROUP&cm_mmca1=UK&cm_mmca2=&ds_agid=58700007838625445&gclid=CjwKCAjwwo-WBhAMEiwAV4dybU9YLNXb9DxJjAm0F3twaS27r2qgI2PDV9_KZZIEuf2tivSuq6fUcxoCiBEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds The Westfield has the MT75 tunnel so footwell space is as narrow as it gets, but there's enough room for me to manoeuvre in there. Rest of the time I am a recent convert to Skechers. Soooooo comfy. But a back to back test this weekend shows that whilst I can drive my new (to me) tin top in just about anything the Skechers are too wide for the Westfield. My Reeboks are my favourite shoe to drive in. I save the race boots for when I am on a track...1 point

Hi guys. An update on the Omex ECU/loom kit. Omex have come back to me via email with information. Overnight they put the price of the ECU up 20% and the loom up 25%. So with the extra connections and sensors required it comes to a total of £1251 Inc vat plus postage. I'm not going to comment on that considering we had already paid Westfield for it. But on the good side Liam at Tornado Systems has been very helpful and is trying to negotiate a better deal on it as they are an Omex dealer and were surprised at the price hike. Again, I will keep you posted. M.1 point

Afternoon all, Nick here from TigerRacing, due to unfortunate events it’s with great sadness that Westfield has gone into administration, even though it’s a competitor it’s always sad to see company’s in this industry go under especially a company as big as Westfield. That being said we also understand the great stress owners / builders of westfields will now be under. So here at Tiger we’d like to extend a helping hand to anyone with a Westfield who’s struggling for bits or parts, MOT’s or anything else. We know the fall out from this is going to affect many enthusiasts and we don’t like to see the community struggle. King regards, The Tiger Racing team1 point
