22 June 2022 No solid news to report at this point. Basic information went out to interested parties with respect to the sale of the business last week, - we received one having previously discussed it with MB-I. While I can't disclose the contents of the (confidential) sales memorandum, I can say at that point there was nothing "for us". Appointments for those interested in purchasing the business were being arranged to view the assets at Kingswinford. However, in order to proceed to even that stage, would have required a signature from ourselves, (me), on an NDA (Confidentiality agreement), worded such, that I couldn't sign, and be in compliance with our own Club Constitution, (and not in a small trivial way, either). At this point though, there was no point making a mountain out of a mole hill, as the only reason for going from the Clubs point of view would be morbid curiosity. I replied to the info pack though stating as such, however I did also stress, that should the business fail to sell in this first round, and be liquidated, there would be assets such as the archives, that we may be interested in, so we do as a Club, still have irons in the fire. And for the moment, that's it, as far as we know. I'll keep updating this thread when I have any solid updates. It's not our intention to repeat hear-say from Social Media, we don't have to be first with information, just right. I've been in touch with the Chesil Support Group on Face Book, now the Westfield Support Group, it's a closed group, I can see we have a few members on there, though it is mainly the Chesil guys. On the whole, other than some Chesil specific suppliers, they don't seem to have much more info than us. Hi all ive recently took the plunge and bought my first ever Westfield, after wanting a '7' style for over 25 years. Ive been biker all my life and ive decided to hang up my boots and move into something new. I bought this from another member on here and im really pleased, i was looking for of a more modern style but with it only having 450 miles from new and being a 2015 i went for it. My plan is to change the chrome out for black, new exhaust, few interior changes and hopefully change the colour. Ill be hoping for plenty of help from fellow members and ive already been welcomed on some facebook forums.4 points

Enjoy the trip - I was part of a group of 4 Westfields that took the 'economy' commercial vehicles ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao in 2016 - it's a long journey but the bar/restaurant are good and having a cabin we slept well (lubricated) - no problem getting on/off the ferry and you've broken the back of the journey south. I've also taken ferries to the Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and the Euro Tunnel - no problem getting on any of them event loaded and 2 up.1 point

Hi Ste. I'm fairly new on here myself, but they seem a good bunch. 😃 I live in St. Helens, so only down t'road... be good to meet up once you're on the road. We just won't mention the rugby 😂1 point

Hi Steve, I think I saw your car advertised when it was for sale, I was half tempted with it myself! ☺️ It looks a really nice car, and I'm a big fan of the 'blade engine (and bike engines as a whole). I had a Megablade for 11 years previously and they're such a useable car on the road. Have fun! Lee.1 point

Depends what they are ridding the bicycle of.1 point

UK Law often disappoints. If two people are caught ridding a bicycle whilst over the drink drive limit and one has a car licence and the other doesn't, would you be surprised to hear one of them will loose their car licence!?1 point

True. The great thing about dashcam footage is that it is widely used as evidence by the police and the courts so in effect it becomes an independent witness, which are often worth their weight in gold pressed latinum...1 point

Had no issues what so ever with the typical P&O cross Channel ferries. though if you need to stop on the loading ramps, for heavens sake don't trust the Hi Spec handbrake to hold you!! As long as your car isn't especially low you should have no issues.1 point
-
Dover-Calais a few years ago now and no issue at all with P&O. the only problem was the speed bumps through customs on the way home as I was running low at the back due to the two cases of beer I’d got on the back.1 point

What is a matter with people these days.....To be honest, I'm finding there are more and more people who have no moral compass when it comes to buying. Anyway, their loss, someone will be very lucky with this car.1 point

Welcome.....Very nice car.........Such a low mileage!.....what engine is it running. Regarding the changes you want to make.....I'm completely with you, and to be honest although the Westfield racing green can a bit 'old school' with the chrome (nothing wrong with that if that's the look you are going for), but the deep green does lend itself to a more modern twist if you accessorize with the right hardware colours. That's pretty much the look I wanted with my car...lots of black, lots of carbon, some beefy looking exhausts, etc, etc. Also, worth considering a different roll bar which is taller and has back stays....the standard westfield offering really isn't up to much and most peoples head sits above.1 point

Hi. I was wondering if anyone does any scale modelling here? It’s a hobby I had as a child and left behind around the age of 18. During lockdown I took it up again after watching some YouTube content. currently I’m only doing 1:35 armour. Having fun though trying some of the more advanced techniques that you can learn online. here’s some of my best efforts which have had a base I created. The others are just loose currently. A T35 in snow/winter and a kv2 in the wet.1 point

Welcome Steve, looking forward to getting you out on a few local meets and Peaks runs with the rest of the "rabble" (as our little Facebook chat group is affectionately called 😂). If you need any help or advice, you know where we are 👍1 point

I even got it as a retired, ex-, licence holder!1 point

I'm really very much against all the surveillance of new drivers. I do understand the reasons why, but it just doesn't sit right with me. Anyhoo... If it was me I'd perhaps consider adding a dashcam to the vehicle. Data from the tracker can be interpreted and mis-interpreted. If there is footage to back up the data it might make a difficult situation easier. And given my stated objection to surveillance I have just started to equip my cars with front and rear dashcams and I definitely feel better about it. Go figure...1 point

Re the Sport Turbo seats, Cobra have already now made these available from at least one of their existing dealers, see here: https://www.cobraseatsshop.co.uk/cobra-roadster-7-sport-bucket-seat-4937-p.asp You need to select Sport Turbo from the drop down options list, then you can pick colours, materials etc. They just won't have Westfield embroidered on them, though who knows that may be an option in time! Do check though whether the seat runners they offer are the Westfield compatible ones, I've not checked personally.1 point

Welcome and good luck with your search. You may need to travel to find the right car for you. Though being in Wigan, you're better placed than some members in Cornwall or Scotland who expect to find a car on their doorstep etc. Don't rush. Do you research and as suggested above get along to some meets and I'm sure most members will let you sit in or take your for a spin etc.1 point

Afternoon all, Nick here from TigerRacing, due to unfortunate events it’s with great sadness that Westfield has gone into administration, even though it’s a competitor it’s always sad to see company’s in this industry go under especially a company as big as Westfield. That being said we also understand the great stress owners / builders of westfields will now be under. So here at Tiger we’d like to extend a helping hand to anyone with a Westfield who’s struggling for bits or parts, MOT’s or anything else. We know the fall out from this is going to affect many enthusiasts and we don’t like to see the community struggle. King regards, The Tiger Racing team1 point
