Firstly, I have news for you, the Bull in the Thorn cafe has finally reopened, it is now The Bull Yard and it is a pub. We called in the other day and the menu is typical pub fayre with breakfast is served from 8am, so when it has settled down we will give it a whirl. Thanks for the vid, Rob, and that's without a 360 camera We met at McD's and there was a rather odd car in the car park, it had Jag badges on it and it looked great, but what it was I don't know?? Alex had to park separately then Rob, Martin, Chris and Andy and Sue next to the friendly IAM bikers were us, Tony and Nigel After breakfast Rob and his Rebel's headed back South, leaving the rest of us to pick up the high roads of Buxton, the twisty roads of Crowdecote and the Via Gellia before landing in Bonsall. Glen got cheeky with the camera as we were travelling along. On the big roads and the smaller roads Quite how that moody sky didn't drop any water I don't know near the end Nigel peeled off down the Ashbourne road for Father's Day duties and we parked up in Bonsall village. Chris and Andy having a shiny car competition, and this was after a run through the Peak District, there are a lot of constipated cows out there. After lunch the cakes arrived, Martin had eaten his before the camera came out and Chris was having tomato sauce instead. Andy, The Cake Meister, did not disappoint, he had chocolate orange cake AND lemon ice cream, I bet you can't read that without your mouth watering 😜 Fantastic. If you ever feel grumpy or stressed just have a look at this photo and suddenly nothing matters anymore. Great company, lovely cars, and the super roads have made for a priceless day out, thank you everyone.7 points

Short but sweet meet up this morning, sadly had time get home for lunch.... Early morning meet up near Derby with Tony and Alex before convoying up to Matlock. McDonald's was very busy due to a local classic car meet so sadly we were spread around the car park.... how rude of them, spoiling the normal photo! 😂 Luckily I got a little video of the departure3 points

Not, I hasten to add a subtle way of me telling you I've bent something!! Though the information is hidden away in other threads, I just thought I'd make specific mention here. If you're in the unfortunate position of having an accident involving your Westfield, in these uncertain times, you obviously cannot go to the factory. However, we would strongly advise contacting Andy or Dennis at Siltech racing, details below. I could say that with the factory not operating currently, they're the next best thing, but to be brutal it was probably always the other way round, the factory was probably always the next best thing to Siltech! Siltech have done major accident damage repair for the racers and sprinters, as well as road cars, and have huge knowledge and experience with Westfields. https://www.siltechracing.com Main number: 01362 820456 Andy Silman: 07912 219642 Dennis Silman: 07516 716053 - they have a complete car of body panels (including a tub) - which have their own design touches and are outside any possible IP issues connected to the factory. They also have a long and brilliant history of producing some amazing fabricated and machined parts for Westfields, including, but not limited to: wide track front suspension, modified rear micro adjustable suspension, Big brake kits, including a replacement front upright/big brake kit. Anti roll bars, chassis fabrication work and chassis damage repairs, fabricated parts and CNC made parts. And they really know Westfields. Additionally, as per the other thread, on help while the factory is in administration, both Tiger Racing and MK Sports cars (Via their Kit Car Direct arm) are both able to carry out fabrication and repair work on the chassis etc.3 points

As I understand it the Westfield part is dimensionally identical to the lotus so it may not be quite as difficult as you think. At least some of the lotus XI’s in historic racing have had the aluminium panels swapped out for fibreglass to preserve the cars originality should it be involved in an accident so there is likely to be moulds available other than just Westfield.3 points

First time in almost two months that the car has been out of the garage, and before I rip out the interior for a re-refresh I spent 30 mins having a run out. The local parkland areas were packed out so these were taken at a local leisure area. Was shocked to find my usual rubbish handbrake actually held the car here, the photo doesn't show the slope well but it was quite steep. I did leave it in reverse while taking the photos ( just in case) And you surely can't get anymore British in a photo than a Westy and a good old game of cricket..3 points

After much faffing about, changing days, routes etc. we managed 6 people, 3 cars and 1 bike. Meeting at the Motorist at 10 am, I was immediately insulted by the marshall telling me that there were some other Caterhams over there, when I told him "it's a Westfield", "sorry, nice colour" was his reply. Des'n'Debs and John were waiting for me, and after fixing my indicator we set off to meet Roger and Judy at Seaways cafe in Fridaythorpe then on to the NY500 for breakfast. From there, on to Pickering then Scarborough, missing Whitby (too far) and down the east coast passing through Filey and stopping off in Sewerby, parking up and having a walk down the coastal path. Fuel stop in Bridlington and down to Hornsea for fish and chips. We went posh, sitting inside, not eating them from the paper. It was then time to head for home before the rain came. Setting the satnav for "home" and avoiding motorways, I made it missing the rain. A long days driving, around 180 miles, but a good one. Thanks to @Breakable?and Debs, @Never Too Oldand Judy and @Barnsley John for coming along. See you on the next one.2 points

As myself and several more Cheshire & N. Staffs Club members will be away on the normal meet day, the first Thursday of July, the meet will be the following Tuesday, the 12th July instead. If we have a dry evening, we will meet at the Golden Pheasant at 7.30pm, before heading over to the Swettenham Arms for their Classic Car Tuesday meet, hopefully with no rain to send them scuttling off, this time!! As before, any one in tin tops, more than welcome to join us at Swettenham, or we can try and arrange passenger seats for the ride across. If the weather isn't great, we'll stay at the Pheasant!1 point

Not much to report from the last few weeks or at least nothing that looks that interesting in photos. There’s only been a few little jobs done to the plumbing mainly as I first caught covid, village Jubilee celebrations and then had a holiday to LeMans. One Costin related item I can show you now it’s Father’s Day was a model of the car I made recently for my dad. As with anything I make it started first with a drawing! It’s quite easy when you’ve already got most of the car drawn in 3D as a couple of button clicks reduced it down to 1:43 scale to match the rest of his car collection and then there was a few tweaks adjustments and the addition of a driver figure. Not having a 3D printer of my own I turned to makeitquick for the printing side of things. The main body of the car, wheels and exhaust were all printed in high detail resin whilst for the tyres I opted for abs. To give the car some strength the suspension arms would be made from 1mm stainless steel rod. This is the kit of parts ready for assembly. I painted as much as possible prior to assembly which needed patience and a steady hand. Then onto the final assembly.1 point

Sorry you got passed around ACW, I will have a word! Glad you got it sorted1 point

The XI is a slightly trickier case, as regards the chassis itself, to be honest, I’d still go down the Siltech route, even if they don’t have existing wishbone designs, they’re more than capable of fabricating new. The bodywork is the part with fewer options. It may be a case of repairing the GRP, unless anyone knows of anyone making panels already?1 point

This is such a sad situation. My 250 Sport kit was ordered in mid December and they supplied most of the kit in a really short space of time, yes I had to wait for certain parts to arrive, the only part I did not have after the announcement was the exhaust link pipe/cat. I contacted Birchills Automotive who supplied Westfield , last Monday who had what I needed on the shelf and got it on Tuesday.1 point

Another part run from me (I'll be getting a reputation soon) but great to see everyone at McDonalds in Matlock, and A good, if brief, run for me in order to get back for the Holymoorside Jubilee Party in the park. Very successful day all in all. A few pics from McD's. Sorry to have missed the (birthday) cake! The party in the park was worth going to though and there were some nice cars there to look at too.1 point

If you fall into the third category, and are not actually owed money, but are now stuck with either work that was booked into be done at the factory, of parts being needed that can now no longer be purchased from WSC Ltd, then we are working to put together a list of businesses that can help. (This will hopefully expand over time). I've already spoken to the kind guys at Tiger Racing and MK Sports Cars, who have both been very supportive, so I will begin with them. Tiger Racing, 01975 466200 jim@tigerracing.com - Build work, fabrication of parts missing etc, parts supply MK Sportscars, Neil at MK was equally keen to help, note MK have several companies in the seven replica world, so please speak to them via the Kit Car Direct side of the business. 0203 432 2679 - Build work, fabrication, parts supply, grp Edited to add a message from Oracle Cars BV, in Belgium. - Thanks to @Tim Reid (TimDave25) - Joint Thames Valley AO who after a PM conversation with me had a chat with SIltech on the Club's behalf, so: https://www.siltechracing.com Main number: 01362 820456 Andy Silman: 07912 219642 Dennis Silman: 07516 716053 - they have a complete car of body panels (including a tub) - which have their own design touches and are outside any possible IP issues connected to the factory.
