Well, despite requests and suggestions to rein it back in, we haven't. As a result, NO ONE is now collecting ANYTHING on Friday. And posts in THIS thread are the main reason. The insolvency people are on here, they are reading it, and now have justifiable concern for their own safety, the threat of "a few big lads" from various different justifiably upset clients arriving, attempting to gain access etc. We don't have any idea, at the moment, what parts of the orders that are sitting at the factory, have actually been paid for by WSC Ltd either, so even though you may have paid for that item, it may not be the factories to give you, and it's removal could be construed theft! But for the time being, no public (ie on the forum, whether in main or members only areas) discussion along the lines of going grabbing stuff etc, no matter how successful or otherwise you or your mate found it in the past, or speculation of what the Insolvency practioners are doing. If as a club, we have solid information from them, we will post it. If you have information that you're not sure if you should share, then PM either the mod team or myself and let us know. We will collate and respond. If the group who thought they had stuff there to collect want to set up a group PM to share the responses, again, that's fine, not a problem, if you're not sure how, let me know and I'll start it. This is something we need to do to protect the interests of our members. We will all, I'm sure, spend years dissecting the events of the current few weeks, when they're over. But for the moment, we need to be smart about it, and control our selves.14 points

OK, we seem to have reached a point, where there isn't much real news, plenty of speculation and a lot of raised emotions. To be absolutely clear; various posts, innocently made, some just trying to be helpful and giving examples of things that happened elsewhere, were seen by and reacted to by the company handling Westfield Sports Cars current situation. As a result, Fridays collection day that had been arranged for a few people has been cancelled. Those posts have now been hidden, I know, I know, stable door and all that, and this thread locked. If and when we get more solid information regarding the Administration process we will keep you up to date in fresh threads. I suspect it may be a little while. Bearing in mind the "damage" we have accidentally and unwittingly inflicted on those fellow club members affected by this change of heart on Friday's collection, we would ask once again, until things are clearer and public statements have been made by the companies involved, for the sake of those customers of the factory, both Club members and none members, can we please refrain from starting up more threads to speculate, and in instances, without meaning to, inflame the situation.8 points

OK, so I've been doing some digging and research through old receipts, packaging etc and picking peoples brains where possible to try and pull together a snap shot of "what came from where" at the factory. Hopefully this was all still current at the end, but without speaking to each of them I can't confirm. Note the list is provided "as is". I haven't been in communication with any of these guys, their details come from Google. I would suggest, if you want to try and see if you could obtain anything directly from one, start a thread here on the forum first, and see if you can get a few of you together, before contacting them. Goodwill, given they may be placed in awkward situations by the factory closing, may evaporate quickly if a couple of dozen people ring for the same thing! Please all stop sharing private discussions with the Insolvency practitioner on a public forum. We appreciate you're trying to help your fellow members etc. Also discussions on how to handle reclamation of parts etc aren't helpful to the current situation. Hence quite a few posts above have needed to be hidden @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman will be along later to discuss further. Thanks, Ian, on behalf of the WSCC Moderator Team3 points

Folks, keep in mind that WSC Ltd was part of a group of companies, you may find it’s not so straightforward in terms of ownership of individual elements as you think. Until the insolvency practice has prepared their report, all this is just wild speculation, which may turn out to be well off track. As much as it’s in our nature to pick over the bones, and speculate, we need to hang back until we have more facts to go on.2 points

Westfield SE Narrow Body – Rebuilt in 2002 by RAW Engineering (now owned by MK Sportscars). Certificate of installation / rebuild available. Excellent spec and condition. Fully road legal. Would make excellent track car. Full 1 year MOT (June 2023). I have owned the car for 5 years and only ever used it for on-road use in dry weather. Previous owner owned car for 13 years. It has been a real pleasure to own and will be sad to see it go however genuine reason forces sale – storage space, funding for another vehicle and lack of use. Good afternoon everyone, Thought I'd say hello as a new member. Back in April I put a deposit down on a Mega S2000 with Toybox, this will be my first Westfield having never owned or even sat in one before! I'm hoping to collect the car later on this week or next. I live up in Rossendale, I think my closest area meet would be Lancashire? Does anyone know the history of the car or whether it was built/owned by any other forum members? Thanks, Alex1 point

Glad you are sorted with the starter. It's not uncommon to get oil vapour out of the breather. Just check your oil level on the dip stick and ensure between min and max. If you empty the catch tank and record the date you will be able to establish how quickly it fills. I've plenty of experience here too but I'd focus on your coolant issue first.1 point

Car and trailer sold, no more race videos. Big hole in the garage 15 year of Westfield ownership has been a blast from the shows, Harrogate and Stoneleigh, nearly winning the speed series! Making great friends, moving into the financial drain that was motor racing with I must say great success, and now retired. So probably my last year of membership, massive thanks everyone who’s helped, been a part of and supported this journey1 point

Ill work my way through these points. The coolant I’ve seen is indeed rust coloured. I’ll try and get a proper photo of the exact setup. I don’t have a header tank, there’s a pipe coming out of the neck of the thermostat going back into the rad. I’ve read this was normal practice once upon a time. anyway, you’ve given me all the info I need to address the cooling issues with these engines, so many thanks 🙏🏼1 point

Evening team, Big respect goes out to @BillyPee. The starter motor he kindly gave me works a dream and I’m so happy to be able to start the car again 😅 What are the odds of the starter motor going for a crap on the drive home from collecting it 🤦 I got her up to temp and found the radiator cap to be the culprit of the leak. Easy fix: She does seem to run quite hot imo, but I’m not an expert. I didn’t drive it due to the leak but it sat idling on the drive just shy of 100 degrees. At this stage it had lost about 50-100ml of coolant so I turned it off. The fan didn’t kick it either. Another observation is this smoke(?) (see video) coming from the catch can. Perhaps it’s normal, I just don’t have the experience with this car to know, any opinions welcome: sorry moderators if it’s getting a bit tech heavy for The Start Line. As always, thank you, legends. cheers Dave1 point

Happy birthday again Julie🍰, another cracking outing and thanks for the new name for my car (I think….?😂) May have had a few teething issues over the last year or so! But I guess that’s the joys of Westfield ownership and all part of the fun👍 almost right on the clutch mod/repair, but I just copied the S2000 boy’s and replaced master cylinder from 0.75” to 0.625” as the Mazda clutch has always been a bit short, stiff and grabby! (Ooer missus…!) And changed the slave cylinder for a better quality. But we’ll let you off as it’s your birthday😜 May have done some shopping online too when I got back for the cars new name😉1 point

Sat watching Wheeler Dealers and Ant Anstead said 'this car has had more issues than Beano' made me chuckle and unfortunately I was just thinking about poor Glynn who had missed our last run due to clutch 'issues' and so Beano was born, my new name for Glynn's car. The Naming Ceremony commenced, although @HB46443's car is probably more worthy of the name at the mo, it all makes the world go round. Presenting Glynn and BEANO with their comic Meeting at McD's in the hot sun, phew. There is always one @Lee Bennett Luke and Deanne made it after a loose fuel pipe on the filter, making a 9 car meet. After a brew we went through Chatsworth, up near Abney Gliding Club, through pretty Castleton, to let all the traffic come down over the cattle grid, that was kind of me wasn't it😉. Now we had a clear run up Winnat's Pass, yes, and a clear run down Mam Nick to land at The Rambler Inn, Edale. Where else do you go on your birthday but to the best of the best. Best roads, best pub. Expecting to sit outside, Edale is 600ft up and it was now cold and windy, so after parking up we scurried inside for a small beef dinner, with a proper Yorkshire pudding. Glen celebrated my birthday for me by having a pint of Dortmunder Vier, mmm. Our return journey took us over Surprise View and on to lower ground for the cakey bit. It was a tad warmer so we got to enjoy the outdoors, Luke was dressed in true Honda style with shorts and a T-shirt on. I can assure you, I had my thermal trousers on, next it was time for Rocky Road and flapjack with raspberry and white chocolate, although the chocolate orange cake was popular too. Cars parked at the Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale. Hey, these do breakfast, shall we try this as a meeting point next time? Big Andy is well known for having been chased by a chicken, so it was payback time as he mounted a co...shut it @Glynn Walters here is the DBPower jump starter that we keep in our car. Good to see @BillyPee back out temporarily with a new blue roof on the Porsche and having had the steering wheel recovered after it had delaminated. His Westfield has had a bonnet respray and flared side panels fitted so is expected to be back on the road in July before having the tub sprayed during the winter. Glynn has fitted a new slave cylinder and a clutch with a smaller plate after his issues last time we were out, this man doesn't hang around getting his car back up and running. I am sure there is a more technical name for 'clutch with a smaller plate' but hey, it's me talking here, cut me some slack😃 @LukeW had us all 'squealing' with laughter at his brakes, which were also squealing, thankfully he left a large gap from the car in front to reduce the need to brake, nice one. Although I have missed my other Honda Boys today it has been a fantastic birthday and I could not think of anything that I would rather do, so thank you everyone for turning up, eating lot's and driving well. We love Westfield's, they are absolutely the very best things in the world, LONG LIVE THE WESTFIELD BRAND ❤️1 point

Another part run from me (I'll be getting a reputation soon) but great to see everyone at McDonalds in Matlock, and A good, if brief, run for me in order to get back for the Holymoorside Jubilee Party in the park. Very successful day all in all. A few pics from McD's. Sorry to have missed the (birthday) cake! The party in the park was worth going to though and there were some nice cars there to look at too.1 point
