I can come through Sheffield to get to the Peak run. That's assuming Andy (@Yorkshire_Pudding) can be around in the morning on Sunday when I'm passing? Also if it's easier for @neptune and works for @Quinten Uijldert - Webmaster I'm going to Silverstone on Monday to be wined & dined by Porsche so could drop it off on my way down / heading back up?4 points

Meet at McDonalds, Bakewell Rd, Matlock, DE4 3AU, 10am. After a brew we will go a run out and finish up somewhere for lunch, cake may be destroyed in the making of this day out. Anyone joining us?3 points

Just replied and it looks like we can get it sorted 👍 I'll try and make sure it doesn't get covered by cake crumbs after a @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative organised run around the Peak's 🍰😉3 points

@Quinten Uijldert - Webmaster there will be a Peak District run out this Sunday. We can meet @Yorkshire_Pudding at The Strines if that helps (as long as he brings his dad @tuonokid58❤️) Let's keep talking and we can make this happen one way or another.1 point

That's interesting. The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) requires that the car passes a basic safety inspection (seat belts work, brake pedal doesn't go to the floor, battery tied down....etc) and the driver needs to have closed toe shoes and a proper helmet that is up to date. That's about it. I've been competing 15-20 days a year for the past 20 years and have never seen anyone get hurt. I did see a car roll over once....a poor course design caused the driver to loose control and slide sideways off the pavement and into the dirt and the tires rolled off the rims, the wheels dug in, and over it went. The driver was lucky. The car (Toyota MR2) rolled over and back onto it's wheels and the driver got out and walked away without a scratch. The "anyone can drive nearly anything" approach of the SCCA seems to work out well and it exposes so many drivers to the finer aspects of car control. There's even a young person's program to teach drivers how to handle a car before they actually drive on the open road. Cool stuff. dave1 point

@Morley keeps promising to bring carrot to a peak run and he's close to @Yorkshire_Pudding perhaps he can help at some point?1 point

That's what I'm asking for Ian, someone who is attending the Peak run, and is in a position to collect it from Andy in Sheffield. Martin already kindly offered to bring it to Northampton from a Peak run. I know I'm asking for all the stars to align...1 point

Wouldn't find a church with a car park for over 5 cars over here, some old Saxon Churches can be over a 1/4mile from any sort of road.1 point

Few pictures (hope not too much, but hard to decide, like all pictures of Westfields ) and onboard from first and one so far in-Westfield-trackday this year, but June is looking to be more busy. Sadly no podium, I was placed in the same class with Formula Renault 2000 (two drivers) and Radical SR8 (kitcars are so not popular here, that some Organizers treat them as "bolids" , " proptotypes" etc) . Radical best lap 1:37/38 , Formula one driver 1:43, slower driver 1:46 , mine best lap 1:51,4... so huuge differnce. What interesting such formula is not much lighter (490kg) than Westfield, and with similar power (190hp) . Radical ok , unbderstood almost 500 hp, aero, racing crew, fresh slicks, telemetry , racing driver, etc. But similar parametrers formula ? Wonder how look laptimes in UK where open-wheelers like such formula compete together (well the same day maybe not in classes) with Westfields and other 7-type cars ? this was fast track (almost 200km/h on straight end) promoting less drag,, turns not so fast for aero to work so much i think (?) Must try harder next time it cant be aero and drag only which makes such big difference. Wonder if I could go lower with ride height when looking at pictures ... And Formula Renault :1 point

Welcome! We have a few GBS owners amongst us, so hopefully one may be able to help. That said, the GBS Open-days have been a frequent place to visit, pre-pandemic, and I've always found the guys really helpful and engaged, so if you have no luck before, they'll be able to help you on Monday.1 point

I travel from Northampton to kegworth (j24 on the M1) weekly so happy to meet up and bring them back to Northampton for you. If your Sheffield contact can arrange getting them to a peak District run then even easier for me to collect for you.1 point

Photos! i can't understand why they are posting upside down! Perhaps someone could enlighten me. In terms of spec, standard green with maroon. Le Mans tail, because I quite like the look. I have ordered an upgraded engine from MCCS with about 100bhp at the wheels, 5-speed gearbox. I am planning everything new or reconditioned, but I scrapped a very rusty 1967 Midget to get a V5 and donor parts. I ticked the polished option and the bodywork looks great, plus a wiring loom and anti roll bar.1 point

@Quinten Uijldert - Webmaster how is the wing getting to the peak meet? @Yorkshire_Pudding is still building, unless he's planning to attend in a tin top. @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative is currently on Hol and normally decides her plans on the Fri night for the weekend. She's due back for this weekend, so is likely to be out. We'll gladly help if we can etc.0 points
