Not the most exotic location for some car photos (my driveway) but having the car out and being driven in late December in the mountains of Montana, USA is a big deal. I skied yesterday and went for a blat today. Not bad. I wanted to show off my new front suspension courtesy of Siltech Racing. I was running the stock narrow track Westfield A arms and I opted for the +35 mm kit from Siltech. It installed beautifully and was super easy to set up. I love the simple camber adjustment that comes with this set up. I’ve had it on the road a number of times and I’m very impressed with how supple yet grounded it feels. It really does breathe with the road while at the same time it feels hunkered down and stuck to the floor. I will no doubt be quicker racing next year with this configuration. I finished it off with a new ARB (swaybar in American) of my own design and manufacture. It’s running in oillite bronze bushings and the lightweight end links (also my own work) are clamped in place by clamps made with the good folks at Clear Motorsport. As you can see there’s snow on the ground here but the roads were dry today so I couldn’t resist taking it out for what could be the last time this year seeing as more snow will be here soon. It’s good to have this stuff mostly set up and benchmarked so it will be ready in the spring for next year’s race season. Thank you Siltech and Clear. Dave2 points

Just a reminder, it's our monthly meet on Thursday the 6th January, our first of 2022! Usual time and place, the Golden Pheasant, 7.30pm How many Westfields will we see? How many of us will choose shorts? Will Bill and Jon have matching t-shirts? All these questions and more answered on the night!1 point

No Westfield, but should be there to welcome in the new year! Andy1 point

Diy 😬 It's a fairly lengthy process. Need to flat them back. Primer. Coarse silver base coat, 3 or 4 coats of candy then clear.1 point

I’m in. Hopefully in the Westfield weather dependent, but no shorts I’m not that crazy.1 point

There’s s good chance your fancy new (old) smartphone has an atmospheric pressure sensor in it to help calibrate the barometer. iphone 6S and newer have one. Ipad Air 2 and later have one too.1 point

Just an idea, but if the other person has nothing to swap, how about a small contribution to one of our great charities ?, would that work ?.1 point

My 2 pennies worth on this.... I'm currently building an unbuilt kit that was originally purchased from Westfield in 2002. I'm not sure when this was originally purchased (possibly 2010 from the sellers other posts here?) so that would be my number 1 question. Parts that have been in storage for a while might be corroded, degraded, brittle with age, bodywork might have storage marks, crazing, scratches, tyres need replacing etc. Are there any parts missing? Certainly from the photos, you can't see everything. Does the engine have throttle bodies? What gearbox? Are there any parts included that you don't want that could be sold on to recoup some money, e.g. ARBs? These are the questions that spring to mind for me. If all of the above checks out, it could be a real bargain. Good luck!1 point

I don’t think so. It is effectively a second hand kit so you’d expect to see a substantial reduction in the price you pay for a “new” kit form the factory - and the choices made may not match your own preferred options. Also, there will be a limited market for a “used“ kit, but if you are in that market then grab a bargain. (In my opinion anyway 😁)1 point

Thanks Chris, I installed the same app that is now on the phone, and it said there was no onboard hardware, or words to that effect. No bother as at least the phone has. I don't think this mech barometer is working afterall and it's the pressure vessel that's faulty, of course the mech device may not be as sensitive as the phone app, but I have a feeling it won't work. The needle has not moved from where I set it to yesterday.0 points
