Stuart didn't make it so we hope you felt better eventually. Quackers, a great meeting place for Westfields. Luke and Gemma(below) joined us for a short while at Quackers. Gemma came in a tin top with their daughter Bryony while Luke came in his V8 Westfield, what a great Westfield Wife. Luke's showed us pics of his smart new toy, can I say? a shotgun....I said it wouldn't be knitting needles! In the absence of the cake meisters I had to hold the fort and YEEAAS I got the corner piece. You can't beat cake for breakfast. We wiggled along the flowing A6, enjoyed it's short section of dual carriageway, and took off up into the hills to the Goyt Valley for a bit of drone action. Thank you to Nigel for bringing it along and taking the time to share the footage with us, we are honoured. Bonnets Off at the Goyt Valley Next we did a route that I call 'the square root of Buxton' it's a twisty, scenic, cracking road that conveniently lands us at the Peak View Tea Rooms. As it overlooks the Cat and Fiddle road we got a running car show as we ate lunch. It even has steering wheel parking spaces😄 Soon we all took off in our different directions for home, my 4 car convoy eventually down to just Andrew and us until about a mile from home we got a sniff of ice cream and the inevitable happened, we turned left into the farm shop. Well it was a hot day and too nice to go home just yet. Adams Happy Hens, Holymoorside Cars down to the last 2 I have to agree with Dave, days like this are just plain good for the soul, the company particularly has been fantastic. Thank you everyone from one happy hen XXXX7 points

Today’s other big job was fitting the fuel tank and making the straps. The originals for these were lost in time and I only had a few clues and broken parts to suggest what they might have looked like. I opted for a 25x0.5mm stainless steel strap with a T-bolt for tensioning and brass rivets to secure the wrapped ends. there’s still a third strap to make for the middle but I didn’t quite have enough stainless steel.4 points

This is a little project I’ve had on the go for a while now. The original dashboard was very tired and the gauges verging on irreparable. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to preserve the original dashboard and instruments as they were since this was part of the cars history and recreate a new dash for the car. The obvious move would have been to choose a modern set of instruments but I wanted to retain the look of the car so set about finding exact replacements for the gauges. Early conversations were had with Smiths/CAI who were quite helpful in the beginning and suggested that replicas could be produced at a reasonable cost but when it eventually came to ordering I was fobbed off with a string of excuses. This left me trying to find for myself what cars the gauges originated from. After many hours spent on eBay and google images I found the tacho was from a Mini Cooper S whilst the minor gauges were Morris Minor. I’m still yet to buy the oil pressure and water temp gauges but nevertheless I couldn’t resist the temptation to bolt the dash into position. I will be changing the three odd bolts, I hadn’t quite got enough so need to order a few more.4 points

Hello! This is my first post, long time lurker! I bought my first Westfield on Monday. An SEIW super sport from MatV on this forum. I've really fallen for the car, I'm using it to commute to work this week! 80miles a day. Looking forward to posting more on the forum. It's a great car can't wait to put my stamp on it. I'm in Maidstone Kent, I looked for an area meet but only saw the joint Essex/North Kent one? Alex1 point

Hi! I though I'd introduce myself here. My name is Phil and I just bought a 1992 Westfield Super Seven on a Bringatrailer auction. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-westfield-zei/ I live on the east coast of Canada and plan to use this for the occasional AutoX and track day, and just for fun drives in the country. This is my first Seven and also my first RHD car. I also own a 72 MGB GT which is my summer daily driver, and a 98 LR Disco V8 which is my winter rig and tow vehicle, so I'm somewhat familiar with British cars. I have a fair bit of AutoX and track experience, having raced my old VW GTI and BMW E30 when I lived in Ontario Canada. There's not as much action here on the right coast, but we do have a decent track that's about a 3 hour drive from me. I'm really looking forward to picking up the car next weekend and driving it the three hours home. I imagine this forum will be very useful as I get familiar with the car. TIA! Cheers! Phil1 point

It’s much safer than my other car that has the fuel tank in the front of the nose just ahead of your feet. 😀1 point

Hadn't really thought about the fuel tank position on a car of this size and shape.....Health and safety would have a field day now!! Love it, a time when men were men👍1 point

The chassis is back home having been collected from paint earlier today. An absolutely superb quality job from the team at Maldon Shotblasting & Powdercoarting. Aftet much deliberation and not knowing the original colour of the chassis I opted for RAL7024 which is BS381C 671 Middle graphite grey; it’s the same colour used on many of the early Lotus chassis which Frank Costin had a hand in designing so I thought quite appropriate.1 point
