  9. Whatever you do, don’t tell your friends! Amazing how busy you become when they realise you have time on your hands. I’m busier now helping people for free than I was working for money. Almost tempted to start working again, or maybe get rid of my friends.

  12. One could suggest that the crafty butt plug identifies as a tyre repair device. I mean who could possibly argue with that?

  13. Unlucky. Wishbones tend to bend before f***** the frame. Im very sorry. Anyway... just a 10% of the car broken, and siltech are good with this stuff. They'll habe you sorted in no time. Good luck! P.D. shame your brother just bought himself a front end for no reason.

  17. If converting to camper it’s worth thinking about the complete package. Cost and availability of pop up roofs/ cupboards/ water tanks/ rock n roll seats with/without testing…. For the Vito over the higher volume Vito.

  18. I built this car and had the engine built by the same engine builder who has built very successful engines for several people in the Speed Series, and I commissioned the loom to be built by Track Electronics which is an excellent piece of kit. I have provided details of the build as best I can remember to Simon who I'm sure will pass on the details to interested parties but suffice to say it was done properly. This is great price for this package and if I wasn't running the Jedi id be buying it back.

  19. Well that's the thing; bar the UJ on the lower steering column, nose cone, headlight mount and mudguard, everything else seems in tact. I guess I'll find out if anything else is broken as I tinker and when it gets fixed and aligned. I've a spare nose cone and I'll have to splash out on flared side panels as the tub will need cutting away too.

  21. Taking place on Saturday, 3rd to Sunday, 4th July the Yorkshire area are having a weekend away in memory of @BugMan, Steve Pitt. We are taking over the White Horse Inn at Rosedale Abbey for the night. The day will start early meeting at 9AM to leave at 9:30 from Skelton Grange service station at J45, M1. The first stop will be at the NY 500 cafe near Pickering at 11:30 for a lunch break. After that, I'm not sure where. The route has been planned by @shutty1971, @marcusb, and @Rickyboy100 in a pub!! There is still a single room left if anyone is interested. And if anyone wants to join us on either Saturday or Sunday, please let us know so numbers can be arranged. Let's hope this is a fitting tribute to Steve.

  23. I'm running my 3rd Vito 66 plate . I've had it from new now with 120k miles. Super reliable. it's had new rear shocks and countless sets of discs and pads. It is a 7 speed auto which is now showing its age becoming slow to downshift. Economy is amazing . Averaged 38mpg over 120k miles and can achieve 50mpg below 60mph on motorways and I tow quite a bit. Very expensive to have serviced at Merc. It has Merc 5 year warranty and the first 3 years serving and maintenance was close to £10k. Merc customer service is appealing. The only real issue is the foot operated park brake is useless and needs regular adjustment . I can drive off with it fully engaged and it was only in for adjustment 6 weeks ago. The previous 2 Vitos were previous generation but still super reliable. Again run from new and sold at around 125k miles with no significant issues. Most euro 6 vans seem to have injector issues. This ban hasn't but our sprinters transporters and ivecos all have. If you're buying used try and get a leak down test done or budget for it and new injectors if you're worried.

  28. Day 2 started with a fantastic breakfast, just the thing to soak up the celebrations of England's 4-0 win the night before. There were a few sore heads! We had an impromptu photoshoot by the great waitress who looked after us and just happened to be a professional photographer, thank you Charmagne Haxby Photography, photos will be on here as soon as possible. Straight out of the car park and up Chimney Bank, the steepest road in Britain and over the moors to Thirsk, via Helmsley and Sutton Bank where we said our goodbyes and headed for home. A great weekend, great people, great staff at the hotel and a great tribute to @BugMan. Pity he missed it, he would have loved it.

  31. Made it to the hotel. The weather forecast was horrible, but we didn't meet much rain. Well done to @marcusb @shutty1971 @Rickyboy100 and Gary in the Cobra for braving it. I didn't.

  32. We’ve made it to the hotel, managed to dodge most of the rain, bumped into @Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) At the cafe who joined us for some of the run, so far we’ve had one broken throttle return spring, one flat battery and four nearly flat tyres probably last checked pre lockdown 😁
