Warning from Motorsport U.K........ โThe Covid 19 virus appears to have affected textiles. Particularly FIA approved overalls containing the material โNomex โ - anti flame retardant material. Members of Brighton and Hove Motor Club have reported dramatic shrinkage in FIA approved overalls. Mostly in the midriff region All competitors for upcoming sprint at Goodwood are advised to ensure that thier overalls do in fact still zip up properly as per regulation requirements.โ Just a bit of fun. But highly likely to be accurate ๐6 points

Tried to watch them a few times bu there is no chemistry, it's all badly contrived and it feels like the script came from the legal dept. Yes I know CHM TG was contrived but they had that certain something, be it comic timing or genuine chemistry or whatever, and it was a joy to watch, most of the time. The current three are nowhere near.3 points

Another one, geez these take time don't they. Oddly this footage was the fastest a Spitty had gone up the hill, they wrote and told me, after I asked what times over the years a Spitty should achieve just in case I was miles off, odd for such an ancient car . LOL, just had an email, YT blocked it in certain countries see if this works then.2 points

Anyone up for a day at Scotland's premier motorsport venue? Monday May 24th, Open pitlane from 10am to 5pm, a nominal 105db noise limit, but I've never been tested there yet. Cost is ยฃ200.. they've been steadily rising over the years, but well worth it in my opinion. Obviously this is all dependant on un locking from Covid restrictions. I haven't booked yet, and so far there's only three of the fifty maximum places taken. At this stage, maybe just a show of hands? Who's interested? ๐ 1. Andrew Booked ๐ 2. @Gary Taylor Booked ๐ 3. @BenD ..๐ค not thinking about it. 4. @Rush Motorsport ..only gone and booked it!! ๐ 5. @Michael Whitworth ๐ 6. @a15cro ๐1 point

From a conversation on another thread, I have decided ( perhaps unwisely) to upload some of my very old hillclimb, rally and sprint vids. All filmed on a huge ( as they were back then) tape camera that on some vids was bolted to the roll cage those vids will appear later on, but for now does this work?, as I have no clue how to use YT. Richard Oh I'm car 77 BTW1 point

Thanks Hedley, as long as it entertains that's all that counts. I wouldn't drive like that on the road though, I used to, but age kinda mellows me a bit, the early stuff was 27 years ago after all,LOL. I have more to upload, but it got a bit intense this afternoon, so taking a break for today now. The quickest up the hill bit is ONLY for a Spitfire, compared to something like a 7, that was slow.1 point

I think the current line up is ok, slthough i detest Paddy. The CHM era is decent enough for nostslgia but it's really aimed at pre-pubescent boys. Onwards and upwards eh ?...1 point

I have uploaded these all in the wrong order sorry. Back to the mid to late 90's with some New Brighton Sprint (Wirral) with the car looking a tad different in that period, the gulf stuff was later. Also some footage at Loton Park, not watched all of this for years myself so here goes...1 point

I think Youtube say you can't monetise any video that contains copyrighted music but the few I've posted (with music) were fine...?1 point

Sorry cheat mode enabled again, I think where I went wrong with my musical knowledge was too many hours in the garage with Radio 1 on mucking about with motorbikes ( this was the 80's at the time) after years of that, the 'pop' stuff for me was main stream. Anyway that is changing ๐ As I said cheat mode on, so1 point

Looking good there Alan, I like the basket as well. I need a stronger bootlid before I can do that though. Roll on summer and better days.1 point

A wind sock for the mic can help give more mounting options, (they're the fluffy covers that look like a Gerbil!) As above, always worth checking through exactly what is visible on a clip when editing! Things like an incriminating speedometer sometimes creep in there! In addition to under the dash, under a (soft) tonneau cover or similar in the boot box, on a ZK bodied car can also work well, by varying how close to the left or right side of the car you are, you can also, to some extent, vary the balance between induction and exhaust noise. Excellent work though, keep it up. Thankfully we don't all have the attention span of a gnats todger. Though concise editing within a video does work well.1 point

He was the only commentator whom you knew was not there because he was being paid to be there. Given the chance he'd have been there anyway! There are few people I would say this about but if the world were made of Murray Walkers it would be a far better place. R.I.P. Murray old bean.1 point

I used to play f1 on the play station back in 95 ish with Murray commentating with all the classic lines, when you hit the barriers he'd say he must have hit the barrier there ,class.1 point

That is a great Vid Hedley, and I don't think it's long at all - if anything too short but then I love watching 7 vids. I had my camera in the spot you have it , that is if it was mounted to the roll over bar. I used to get huge vibration but yours seems rock solid. You had a cracking day for it as well. Keep it up and lockdown will over one day so we can all have happy days. Richard.1 point

Hello all, As mentioned previously, here is the Video. Sadly Not greatest picture quality as I reduce this for fear of YouTube restrictions. Still I am learning slowly, now understanding the basics of the program I am using. All the best Hedley.1 point

Rolled her out again to give her yet another spanner check, tyre pressures, a polish and run her to temperature. I replaced the drivers side cycle wing stay last year and how it sat had been bugging the bejeezus out of me. After a bit of fettling she's looking almost perfect now ๐ Also refitted the front "oops Officer it fell off" number plate so she's ready for a fresh MOT in the coming weeks.... roll on non essential travel!!!!1 point
