  1. Probably the worst kept secret, but I can now confirm that I am travelling on Wednesday to collect my Westie to return it back where it belongs. It looks like its going to need a bit fettling to correct the running issue, but hopefully nothing too major.

  2. I've taken a look under the hood and here's some facts, All moderator action this year: This doesn't include phone calls/chats across the mod team that some topics result in!

  3. The one had dyno'd at 330 BHP, 350lbft, it was a 5.1L stroker with jenvey TBs (yes 8 of them) worked heads, dry sump and 6k rpm limited, 1000rpm in top and floor and it went like a scalded cat! To this day and probably to the end of my days I regret selling it 😞

  4. Removed last year as re plumbed things. Alloy construction, will need a new piece of clear tube for the sight gauge and also a good clean out ( was on a Xflow afterall !!), also has a bleed take off. Spray painted black, but if removed does polish up well. Free + postage costs. Richard.

  8. Hi all, The Haynes Motor Museum has issued a notice to say that they will start the breakfast club meetings from April 4th. They appear to have worked with the local authority etc to test whether this will be viable and have (I guess tentative), agreement to go ahead. The first event is scheduled for April 4th and the tickets are £5.00 per car - limited to a max of 2 occupants - provided that local Covid-19 restrictions at the time permit - otherwise one person per car. The event is outside but with catering on site. Being ever the optimist, I have bought a ticket - but Haynes have said that any tickets bought will be rolled forward to another date if the vent is not able to go ahead. Link to the event page here: https://www.haynesmotormuseum.com/haynesbreakfastclub Link to a video clip of prior event here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWxORMx0cMs A charge up to Haynes for a lard roll and coffee sounds like heaven just now and so thought that I'd post to to see if anyone in the SW areas might fancy it? I've not had my car long enough to not be in some form of restrictions and so would be great to meet a few people. April 4th is quite early and so may be a bit weather dependant but come on: cars - a drive - lard - coffee - what's not to like! What do folks think? Thanks all, W

  9. I´m wondering what is happening lately. I don´t own a westfield anymore, and I come in here as normally the atmosphere is relaxed, free speech and even arguments while respectful were left alone, and where I have most of the time felt like at home... BUT In the last month, I have had one post removed with what I thought was good information, another one was closed "because was drifting from the OP purpose" after I did a massive, well informed and objective post, yet it was in "stuff and nosense..." where most of the posts do drift away... The last thing I have seen is a moderator opening a post, someone disagreeing, same moderator locking the post but leaving it live "to avoid future arguments". Well, if you are not ready for people disagreeing, beware on sharing your opinion... but sharing your opinion and then shutting the communication channel to sort of "stand your grounds" Isn´t the best way to run the place... I agree moderation is necessary, sometimes stuff get messy, there is SPAM and bots to keep in check... but having an excess of them, means also a messy line of moderation based in personal opinions rather than following an agreed "editorial line"... Aren´t we going a bit too far? or Have I just been unluky?

  10. Just discovered this vid. Well worth a watch. The F3 race at Cadwell in the second half is really good quality for it's age. It's a bit of an eye opener to see the lack of barriers in places, and no kerbs. A real barn at Barn corner too. 😉 (I actually attended a race at Rufforth too.. still got a program somewhere. ) Enjoy. 😎

  15. In the hope that they will get some use I've just bought a set of Nankang AR1 from Demon Tweeks so I can compete in the Speed Series road going class. But I was disconcerted to see that they are not directional, one tyre will run forward and the other backward, see the photo of my front wheels before fitting them to the car. DT say this is correct, can someone confirm please?

  22. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-star-adventurer/sky-watcher-38-stainless-steel-tripod.html It’s out of stock. Did try my camera tripod but only one 1/4” screw so not stable and difficult to find the target. The above tripod would be perfect, just to find one now.

  26. February 6th, 2021 Spend: £38.58 Using Cardboard Aided Design to get the size right of the side panels. Thankfully they are symmetrical so I only had to do this once. Then transferring this to the stitched fabric. And then the moment supreme, does it fit? It does! After that, the tunnel top is easy peasy. February 7th, 2021 Spend: £0.00 Cleaned the car and masked off one side of the interior in prep for spray glue. Never done this before so decided to try it in two halves. This turned out not the best tactic, but any excess glue was quickly wiped off. And then I realised I'd completely forgotten to clear the harness bolt holes, so poked the holes through and put some bolts in to ensure they remain accessible. Leaving the other half for next week. February 11th, 2021 Spend: £0.00 A quick hour in the garage after work to glue the other side of the tunnel on. This time went really smooth doing it all in one go. February 13th, 2021 Spend: £13.95 Braving the cold to get started on the back panel and floor carpets, but gave up as I just couldn't use my fingers anymore. Also had to order more velcro. February 14th, 2021 Spend: £0.00 Installed the press fasteners that I still had left over, only to discover that I needed another pair to reduce the lifting of the top panel in between handbrake and gearstick. Ah well, this gives me the opportunity to spend some time with my other love 😇 on valentine's day... February 17th, 2021 Spend: £6.99 Press fasteners arrived, so I obviously couldn't wait to complete what I wanted to complete last weekend. Glue can now nicely cure before the weekend again. February 18th, 2021 Spend: £0.00 Couldn't wait till the weekend so decided to fold around the handbrake and gear stick holes. Using some tape to keep the folded flaps in place until the glue has hardened February 19th, 2021 Spend: £50.66 Still need to fold and glue the sides, but here's a quick look at the nearly finished article whilst also showing off the new handbrake gaiter and gear knob. I also have a new gear stick gaiter, but it's way too big so I may have to ditch that. Anyone interested in a nice gear stick gaiter with purple stitching? February 20th, 2021 Spend: £7.99 Prepped the bottom side ready for spray glue and then got to it. Taped it all up and hopefully tomorrow the glue has hardened enough to see the final result. Then went back to the carpets and completed the final few bits and put some more velcro on the back panel. Tomorrow will do the same for the bottom pieces. February 21st, 2021 Spend: £0.00 Still need to do the footwells, but the rest is finished. Smart! February 27th, 2021 Spend: £18.86 Before I have seats in the way, I thought it would be a good time to fix the remote gear linkage. When I collected the car the reverse gear was incredibly difficult to engage, and after doing a little research (and having the tunnel cover off) I discovered that the bushes holding the linkage on the gearbox where perished. So this week I've been removing the linkage and ensuring that all adjustment bolts can turn freely before putting it back in again, along with new poly bushes. February 28th, 2021 Spend: £145.76 New footwell rubber mats made and fixed with velcro to the floor. Now I can finally install my Christmas present, an OMP Trecento steering wheel fitted to a steering boss extender. And a new gear stick gaiter that fits. Now all we need are seats and harnesses. Last month: £ 378.64 This month: £ 282.79 ----------+ Total: £ 661.43

  32. Have you considered fitting a later upper column. Weld the tabs on then bolt on. I have the original type fitted to my SE but I do not know if the IVA testers will accept it. Also for test I now have a IVA compliant steering wheel hub with a modern WF IVA steering wheel. You are welcome to view my set up (Covid safety observed) as I have an Allegro column in stock just in case I have a problem with IVA. I plan to final fit scuttle in the coming weeks.

  33. Progress. Dash is half cut to fit now, but i am pleased to say the carbon bonnet it on with aerocatch fittings. I need to lift the carbon scuttle a touch to tighten the bonnet down a bit but i am getting there now! Just need OMEX to post me my ECU back!
