F1 back at Nurburgring... The grand prix at the Nurburgring, which last hosted a race in 2013, is expected to be held on 11 October, when it will be vulnerable to bad weather. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/53527355 This should be an awesome race and really challenge ALL of the teams and drivers to produce a car that can cope with all that the 'ring can throw at it! I for one can't wait!3 points

This may well have already been mentioned or used by others but I couldn’t find it so thought I’d share. BestBikingRoads (BBR) App for IOS & Android. https://www.bestbikingroads.com/ Looks to be a great app for finding routes in an area or local to your location. You can post up your own routes for others to enjoy and rate the routes you’ve used. So far I’m still using the lite version (free), but may well be worth the upgrade in the near future. Ill be using it in anger next week on my little road trip... Lets face it our cars might as well be Bikes just with 2 extra wheels Happy Blatting!3 points

Unfortunately the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh is not going to happen this year. An alternative event is the Oulton Park Gold Cup on the bank holiday weekend. Possibly the best event at this circuit and the Wirral and North Wales area have a display stand for up to 20 cars. Come along and say hello, we have tea and chocolate cake.2 points

Due to many reasons one due to health and one due to time wasters I am putting my SEIW up for sale again, I was planning on building a new Sport 250 but that is looking more and more unlikely. This is my 3rd Westfield, I’ve owned it for over 3 years, in that time I have replaced the tyres (20 miles ony), new rear springs, new starter, new clutch plate and thrust bearing, new manifold bike carbs and filter, carbon dash, ETB Digi dash, new sensors (Oil temp and pressure, water and fuel (baffled dip type)), replacement modern shaped doors, as part of the engine out process the cam belt, water pump and idler were changed. This is a classic looking Westfield, it has the benefit of full wings giving enhanced weather protection and allowing a very tight lock for manoeuvrability, it also has the benefit of being Q Reg so no pesky emissions testing at MOT time. I have tracked it once (Blyton) where it did not disgrace itself and surprised a few who scoffed at the full wing look, yet it is still a thoroughly nice road car. Fitting bike carbs have made the engine smoother and pulls well through the revs with no flat spots. Mileage currently showing just over 300, but will increase as I’m now using it since taxing beginning of June. The mileage on previous odometer is 7502 The Car SEIW registered Feb 98 MOT until 11th Oct 20 All fluids are new Engine/Gearbox/Diff Vauxhall Red top, dyno showing 192 bhp on Weber Carb’s (pulls better now on bike carbs). QED 42H Cams QED Vernier pulleys MBE ECU New Water Pump, idler and Cam belt* Lightened flywheel Helix 4 paddle clutch* Sierra Cosworth 4x4 LSD Tech Craft Motorsport Mega-Flow Exhaust (freshly repacked) *300 miles use only. Brakes, suspension, wheels & Tyres Protech 400 shocks, (adjustable bump and rebound) Brand new progressive rate rear springs, so compliant for smaller undulations but stiffening up to stop bottoming out Geo and corner weight setup by Track Developments Ltd Disk brakes all round M16 Front with DS 3000 pads (refurbished), Sierra rear with DS2000 pads Brand new 195/50 R15 Avonn zv7 tyres. Body/Interior Fully upholstered interior with black carpet RAC roll bar Westfield sports seats with green piping Heater Willans harnesses Carbon dash ETB programmable Digi-dash 2 Momo 300mm leather steering wheel on QR hub. Lockable carbon fibre “boot” Wet weather equipment Later style side screens/doors. Extras Spare wings Spare wheel holder Large folder of history ETB display handbook ECU Handbook Comms cable Build manual Vauxhall Haynes manual Overall condition of the car considering its age is very good, there are a few marks to the gel coat, chassis is perfect as far as I can see. Car is located north of Melton Mowbray1 point

As stated above, im after a pug/citroen... Looking for either a 106gti or a saxo VTS Or a 306 gti6/rallye. Im strongly biased towards the 306, because the 106 and saxo boxes were ticked in the past but i wouldn't mind repeating. I know they are cars difficult to find in the right condition, so ready to offer fair money for the right unit. If you want to get rid of your hot hatch, hit me! Looking extensively elsewhere too. Thanks Maurici.1 point

Welcome. I have a Rover V8 powered Westy in North Dorset (Stur) and you are very welcome to take a look to see if it’s the sort of thing you fancy.1 point

Obviously there are lots of different ways you could go about it, depending exactly what you ultimately wanted to achieve, and what your fabrication skills are like, or whether you have to farm out welding etc. The “easiest” route, would be to cherry pick as many Mega S2000 parts as you can, then adapt the chassis you have, to make them fit. So, say: Westfield. Engine mounts plumbing set prop shaft, though you could have an existing one modified. exhaust manifold, possibly link pipe and silencer too, as they’re larger bore than standard Westfield. lower mid and lower front steering column and bearing, (to route the column around the manifold and oil filter) Omex ECU and wiring loom Air filter and elbow to fit to the Honda throttle body. Hydraulic clutch pedal, (if the current one is cable) Non Westfield bigger radiator, such as Coolex 50(?)mm core version Compbrake 0.625mm clutch master cylinder clutch hydraulic hoses and remote bleeding connections, Think Automotive or similar. There are lots of other little and not so little bits and bobs too, for instance with the instruments, both the standard analogue rev counter and oil pressure gauges don’t have sufficient range, you need a 0-10k Rev counter, and a 0-10 bar oil pressure gauge. But you get the idea.1 point

Not the greatest weekend for Lando in Hungary, but he continues to show what he's made of off the track. After all the other drivers hopped on planes to go back to Monaco and leave their mechanics to it, Lando grabbed some tools and stayed behind to help his team strip the car, pack up and head off together. He's a good egg. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/534023401 point

June 2nd, 2020 Spend: £0.00 First (official) drive! Can't believe how nice the weather has been this year whilst we were in total lockdown. Couldn't drive it yesterday as I had to be in London to renew a passport, but I had a little sneaky 40 mile detour around Northamptonshire after work today. It's good to be back! June 13th, 2020 Spend: £0.00 And then the weather turned bad . But this weekend it's been good again, good enough to little trip down to my favourite landmark view. June 14th, 2020 Spend: £18.00 Noticed on a few occasions that when trying to restart the car after filling up at the petrol station it was cranking a little bit longer than when cold, so wanted to put a heat shield in between the exhaust and starter. First modelled a little with CAD (cardboard aided design) until I roughly had a shape to cut out and then modelled it further in place. Don't know yet how efficient it is, we'll see the next time I'll fill up. June 26th, 2020 Spend: £0.00 Modelled and 3D printed an iPhone 8 phone holder over the past days and fitted it today June 28th, 2020 Spend: £0.00 Can't resist taking the Westfield for every little thing, even when the family car would make more sense Last month: £ 9636.76 This month: £ 18.00 ----------+ Total: £ 9654.761 point

I just fitted -30mm Eibachs (Eibach Pro kit) to my Mk3 which was ridiculously high. Took about 5 hours in total, mostly due to seized ARB drop links on a 2008 car. It's now a little lower than I wanted (20mm would have been ideal) but looks great and still rides well. On undulating single track roads it can now catch, also speed bumps need care - lots of people seem to end up with adjustable coil-overs with better damping and stiffer springs, but I couldn't swing that expense having just bought the car... On most roads it is great, less body roll (I don't like roll) and still seems to grip well. BBR's reputation is excellent, sure you won't go wrong there, just don't get caught by their excellent engine upgrades... MX5 ownership seems just as bad as Westie for upgradeitus!1 point
