  4. Hi all, Thought we might try a group chat on Skype next week. I've only used Skype once myself when I took part in the Peak District call a couple of weeks ago. I thought it worked well so what do you think? This is obviously open to all not just Warwickshire members. Unfortunately we are clashing with Cheshire and North Staffs but it can't be helped! Thanks to Ian Kinder for the following information and some coaching last time! We'll use Skype for this (free if you use wifi) PC Version here- https://www.skype.com/en/ Iphone version is here: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/skype-for-iphone/id304878510 Android version here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skype.raider&hl=en Please send me a PM with your Skype ID and I'll set up the meeting. If anyone wishes a test call or help with Skype, just PM me and I'll help if I can.

  7. Hi Martin and Barry, Thanks for your questions above. I've just spoken with @Gail Jones (Shows & Events Coordinator) who's unable to access the internet at the moment. The Stoneleigh Team, are keeping a close eye on the situation and optimistically hope we can have a great Stoneleigh 2020 event. However we've got to follow the government guidelines and at the moment it looks unlikely that social gatherings will be taking place any time soon. We'd worked hard to prepare for the May Event and can transfer this effort over to the August date should the situation look likely. We'll continue to monitor and will update the members once we've got any news to share etc. Best regards, Ian

  10. Double Bubble Dark Tinted Aero Screen, originally orange now painted blue. Tinted screen in good condition, off a wide car. The Saint Goueno scrutineering sticker must add at least a fiver to the value, its also very fast and won the Speed Series 😂 £90 posted in UK

  11. Please read the below and then respond to the Poll ( For registered Speed Series Drivers only) WSCC Blyton Event and the 2020 Speed Series (July to Oct) The SSOT have been considering how the Speed Series will need to be managed in the next few critical months so that we have plans and a strategy to react to Government announcements on social distancing / lockdown or Motorsport UK regarding permission to start the 2020 sprinting / hill climbing season. The first challenge is to deal with our WSCC Blyton weekend (Friday track day and the 2 sprints) 10th, 11th and 12th July 2020. At present we only have 2 or 3 entries for the sprints and around 15 for the track day. It is currently envisaged that a decision to proceed or cancel Blyton will be made at the end of May or the first week in June 2020. Even if the lockdown is relaxed and we have the necessary permissions in order to proceed we will need to make checks with the support teams required to run the events and make sure they are still available and happy to attend. As you can imagine this is a critical decision for the club and your input to Question 1 is really appreciated to help us steer efforts in the right direction. If then season starts on the 1st July 2020 we will still have 21 events on our calendar subject to the organising clubs having the ability to still run them. If we have a later season start of around 1st Aug 2020 we will have 14 events left on our calendar. In order to judge the support we would theoretically have, I have attached a short Poll for interested parties to complete and this will help us formulate matching plans to try and fulfill competitor’s wishes where possible. Many thanks and best wishes The SSOT

  17. to be honest made, i deliberately get the back out all the time on damp/cold roads, 2nd or 3rd gear 30-40mph feather the throttle on / off slow speed slide control. . some beautiful mid corner drifts that you can see far ahead, an on country roads, its just so easy its so much fun and adds to the dimension, on the road playing like this is way safer than driving fast.. just a litlte slide draggin it out, not a full beans sideways full on smoking drift at 70mph through the housing estate .. with the not so good tr1 tyres on the back, you can go out and play and come back feeling like fighter pilot.. its that forgiving.. its like fast go karts at buckmore pk, you jump in them you know EXACTLY what they will do and how they react to opposite lock.. my westy is like that... predictable.. set up perfectly , the steering could be a little quicker mind.. plus if youre lucky enough to have or find a nice big car park, put. couple of cones down and have a go at drifting if thats your thing... were all different and enjoy these Wonderfull little cars .. i built my car to do this, it was my inspiration, i have more hp and torque , in a nicer engineered car iMO.. id struggle to do this without a lsd.. i think.... i will let you know if i can actually do it with an LSD once tracks open.... LOL... cracking video non the less e

  20. Continuing with the weaving threads of blended old and new music, this blogs aural delight harkens back to Medieval Times. Sweden's Apocalypse Orchestra weaves a faceted tapestry of music. The band was inspired by their love for folk music and slow metal so they decided to combine the two. The tones of ancient drone instruments entwines with heavy guitars and music separated by over 800 years do meet. With a foundation of original music and lyrics but also incorporating melodies from as far back as the 11th century the goal was to create a musical homage to a bygone musical era. The songs tell of flagellants, plague doctors, tales of hell, the meaninglessness of war and of suffering; they are all chapters in the bands grimoire. To balance it out they also shine a light on medieval art, science and enlightenment and try to incorporate these into live performances with shows that feature theatrical performances (sometimes utilizing actors and dancers), fire and projected animation. The band feels the theatrical element can enhance the music, giving it the feel of classic storytelling.

  24. My garage is en-bloc with no power, but it's close enough to the house to see my WIFI, so I've got a couple or ARLO Pro Camera's in there and a couple of those Black and Decker £20 PIR shed alarms (One Black and One White, I'll explain the logic later). Both of these units have never failed to trigger when I open the door. The cameras can be set to alert on sound as well as motion and they can be set so fine that a spider will set the motion alert off, and as for sound I can get it so that it alerts when the lady next door pulls up to put her car away. I've spaced my camera's and alarms to capture a couple of angles, one camera is low and to one side looking out and towards the road, it gets a great face frame as soon as it's triggered, an obvious target to be disabled first, but by then there's 2 alarm sounders to deal with, so spot the white alarm and go for it with a hammer and the other camera gets a you, and for longer as you look for the second alarm, again with the higher up view looking out of the door if they are stupid enough to park with a visible number plate then it's a bonus, both alarms are up high and you have to clamber along the trailer to get to them, the white one is an easy spot but the black one is near invisible in the dark, but go for the alarms to kill them and I have more great face footage. I know it won't deter a smash and grab, so I keep all the grabbable stuff right at the back of the garage. There's more..... If like me you've got stuff to protect at the front and the back of the house, you can run multiple base stations on the same system, the ARLO system base stations can be plugged into a WIFI range extenders if you need to tweak your coverage. It records locally to a memory stick on the base station as well as an upload to the cloud that's stored for 7 days, you can download from the cloud too. It's subscription free for up to 5 cameras, Any queries PM me and I'll send you my phone number. Nem.....

  26. I don't mind wearing a mask on a flight, as long as they're provided FOC - they are as rare as hen's teeth in UK at the moment. As for the rear facing seat goes it doesn't matter at all which way I face but I'm not sure that it is much use to prevent a miasma of viruses from drifting over from the seat immediately behind you. As for window seats, they're fine - I like to see how good my knowledge of the local topography is as I leave Blighty, and look at the scenery on approach to my destination. However since the only time my Good Lady and I have flown in the last twenty years it's been to and from Australia and for that journey I'll foresake the window seat for an aisle seat so that I can relieve my ancient bladder without climbing over sleeping fellow travellers. It's a bl**** long journey and any comfort you can get is to be valued!

  30. Hi guys, just thought I’d write a quick Introduction post. A lot of you may already know me as I’ve been out with my dad (Barry Wilson) for the last 11 years in his Westfield zetec. So, I’m a 22 year old mechanical engineering apprentice for a turbo manufacturer. I have wanted a Westfield for a while now and after looking at a few second hand Westfield’s for sale that needed a fair bit of work to make them how I wanted them. I decided to take the plunge and order a starter kit that is due around the middle of June. just thought I’d add a quick picture of myself for those of you who won’t know me. I have just been getting the garage ready for the Westfield’s arrival which has included wiring in some new LED light boxes, making a very important shelf to hold the brew and the Bluetooth speaker and an all round tidy up. I will be starting a build thread when the car arrives and I look forward to meeting a lot of you and all the knowledge and experience that will bring as well. thanks guys 👍 Andy
