Oh what a shame Paul, next time then hey. So, at Sainsbury's we had a Mega Busa waiting for us, owned by another Paul. He had just done his car up and it looked beautiful, did I get a photo of it? did I heck, damn, damn. New Cobra seats with yellow piping, freshly painted bodywork/wheels and a compact looking engine under the bonnet (my mind is still getting over the massive Jag engine in Kev's car last week). Paul had just come to say hello today as he had other business in the area, hopefully we will see him and his beautiful car again soon. Andrew, Trevor, Martin, Andy and us all parked at Sainsburys and ready for the off. The route was very off piste as we went past Thornbridge Hall and up onto Longstone Edge for our photo. The air was clear and the views were good After the boys had watered the local flora and I made sure I wasn't photographing in that direction (no telescopic lens here), we set off on more of the quiet roads, after driving past a very busy Yondermann complete with a speed camera van outside. High up the views were great over Win Hill, Lose Hill and down into the Hope Valley. This fetched us into the backside of Castleton and nicely onto the Winnats Pass. We had a good run up there, remembering to smile at the company taking photographs at the side of the road, landing us at The Wanted Inn, Sparrowpit for midday. A quick photo, 'Trevor, stop hiding behind Martin and behave!' 😁 Sparrowpit Andrew checked the forum while we were in the pub (thank you) and informed us that Paul was indeed a numpty. Stephen and Sally in the Jag joined us for lunch. The pub was very toasty warm with a real fire going, we all enjoyed our lunch, in fact we ate all the pies, as they had run out once we had finished ordering. @IanK (Bagpuss) would have enjoyed the conversation when it turned to which combination of doors/half doors/wind deflectors and roofs is best - ditch the pamper aids and wrap up hey. The next bit was excellent, with slightly bigger roads and following a Citroen with a young lad driving. His driving ability was excellent, the limiting factor was his car, he did well though. A few people bottomed out as we walloped along. We soon arrived noisily at Wetton and excitedly debated which cake was the best (we have tried most of them). Andy was delivered the biggest slice as usual, how does he do that? he must bribe them on the way in or is it his boyish good looks 🤣 This photo was taken before it rained. The eagle-eyed will see Trevor practising his new dance moves, hilarious. As we sat, we were informed that it was raining, so the drivers ran outside to cover their cars, it's a ruddy good job the cake was yet to arrive or it could have got messy in there. Glen, Stephen and Sally would have looked after it all, I am sure, not. And that was that, another successful day out with great driving friends, thank you for coming everyone. Even Stephen was still smiling, which meant that Sally did a good job of driving his very precious Jag, she is an ex-MX5 driver so she must be good, it's been a pleasure to finally meet you, Sally.7 points

Power/weight alone is not what makes our car fast. The suspension set up makes a huge difference, as do the tyres we run on. Our car has 190 bhp at the wheels, and weighs ~450kg plus driver, but has paddle shift sequential box, an excellent set up and Pirelli slicks. If you were to run the same car in a standard road going condition no doubt it would not be nearly so quick. We find that our lightness, set up and tyres combined make us quick through the corners where others lose out, and adding power would only make us faster up the straights. Also, the skill of the driver makes more difference than anything else. Adam is lacking the part of his brain that tells him he will die, however I am not. That on average means a 5% difference in times5 points

I know that drag racing is not everyone's bag, but as most Westies are 4 cyl, I'm sure you appreciate this video. 4cyl putting out 1800hp with 85psi boost running 7sec/213mph 1/4 miles - it's the fastest H-pattern shift gearbox car in the world.2 points

Bang for your buck busa or the newer 1000rr blade engine is in my eyes it the best way to go for Performance and it comes with a sequential box for free I cannot add much more that hasn't already been said by AdamR or Cphelps weight saving I would say is atleast 75kg -100kg over a Cec of course depending on built spec's and you try and lift 3 or 4 bags of cement that is a massive weight saving . With regards to the chassis Genuine factory "mega bec" cars have always been widebody 99.9% of them were independent rear suspension setup but a couple were live axle which of course were for the customers that wanted to save those extra few kg's but the basic chassis design of the standard "mega bec" isn't really that different to any other seiw there is a bulge into the drives footwell where the reverse gearbox is mounted then of course there is difference in the engine bay which allows the bec engine cradle to be mounted.2 points

September 21st, 2019 Spend: £0.00 I'd never been to the Peak District, so when I asked on the forums if my planned route for today was ambitious or not, @IanK (Bagpuss) kindly volunteered to show me around. What a day it was... We started out as four with @LukeW and @Nemesis joining @IanK (Bagpuss) and my son in his Mini Cooper S in Ashbourne. Afer some driving we met up with @Paul Hurdsfield, @bioman and Kibriyah (NWKCOG) at The Devils A***. More driving was done and my son and I arrived home 12 hours later than we left, with near enough 300 miles more on the clock. The full story can be read here. Last month: £ 9402.26 This month: £ 0.00 ----------+ Total: £ 9402.261 point

Owing to retirement from the Sport I am selling my ex Andy Dunbar Westfield. This successful car is currently one of the most competitive cars around having won many Hill Climb/Sprint events whilst in my ownership and Andy's. BRIEF SPEC Wide Bodied SEIW Wide Track Rose-jointed Adjustable Suspension Flat Floor F.I.A./M.S.A. Certified Roll cage Nitron Double Adjustable Dampers Aluminium Hubs Quick Release Momo Steering Wheel Tillet Seat Millington-Series II - 320HP Engine 6 speed Sequential Quaife Gearbox Geartronics Pnuematic Paddleshift Recently re-wired and Launch control to be fitted this week. Comes with V5 and includes 16 wheels/12 Tyres - 2 sets slicks and 1 set wets all in excellent condition. As an alternative to the Millington engine the high spec all steel Red Top (Vauxhall) engine that was originally fitted to the car is available at a lesser price. This is a well- sorted car. Please no time wasters- this is a genuine car and the price doesn't reflect the true value. £280001 point

Hi Stuart, not at all, you’ll be most welcome to join, we have plenty of non Westfield owning members, both those with alternative fun cars, and those that have had Westfields and stayed around after selling on, as they enjoyed being part of the club and had made many good friends here! We’re all just petrol heads at heart, the little differences don’t worry us! In fact we love the variety.1 point

Looking for a single right hand Golf rear upright. But would consider a pair of golf or a pair of Sierra. What have people got that are cluttering the garage up?1 point

About 280bhp from the 2.0. Bike engined car will be about 75-100kg lighter generally (Fireblade engine and gearbox under 70kg, typical car engine and gearbox more like 150), and faster gear changes as you said Busa engines and their installation are heavier than a Blade, around 30kg I think. My car is 385kg with a splash of fuel, a bit of a exception yes, 450-500kg is more normal.1 point
