I recently put up a post 'Duratec Overheating' Had great response from persons within the club to help resolve the situation. Many posts were put up including detailed pictures to make it easier for people like me !! Without this I'm sure a costly visit to the local garage would of been had. Instead I learnt a lot more about my car and resolved the issue. The cost of membership seems very small when expert advice is freely available Once again, many thanks. Regards Richard11 points

Hello ladies and gentlemen as you know Kevin has moved his roll from area organiser back to member ,i have stepped in to help organise thins, so members were asking for an earlier meet time so they could attend there family matters on the Sunday meetings,so they suggested an earlier time of 9am to replace the 12 to 2 pm slot were are used to, OK some then said there would be no food served at the current venue the lodge hotel, so after lots of phone calls and arrangements by myself it seems the the Toby Carvery at Runwell will be the meet venue , as it has opening times from 7am Sundays, we will meet at 9am at this venue until 12 noon this allows time for members to carry out there family tasks later that day, there is a large car park leading around the building with plenty of room for our cars , please find in the message the address of this location, Toby Carvery Runwell Runwell Road, Wickford, Essex, SS11 7QJ As always let me know your thoughts and happy building your cars thanks Bill3 points

Enjoying following your tour, please keep the updates coming. Believe you're heading to Versailles soon? Whilst the palace is interesting (once you get used to the throng photographing and taking "selfies" everywhere!), the gardens and estate (free to enter, small charge for the Trianon estate, from memory) are something else. Lots of peaceful walking, you can soon leave the sightseers behind, most seemed to ignore the estate when we were there last June!. You probably knew this already, but just in case! Hope this helps. Enjoy the rest of your trip.2 points

Day 11 of our adventure saw 185 miles taking us through some beautiful mountains and hills travelling to the south of Geneva and then up to le Bourg in France a nice gentle drive stopping off at the most wonderful patisserie/ cafe where the selection of cakes was overwhelming, as we travelled through the french back roads the countryside changed in charaoto rolling hills and quaint traditonal villages before arriving at our accommodation for the night2 points

@Ali and Gail the only thing better than cake is cake at 10 000 feet. Everyone should go to Switzerland, we were last there 9 years ago, before the Westfield arrived and I had long hair then too. I will be 50 in 2 years and Glen officially retires in 2 years so we will be celebrating with a trip to Grindlewald, we are saving up already. We are looking at your pictures and absolutely loving them Have a great time and be careful.2 points

Weather was holding and with rain forecast for the next week and a half decided to get myself out. Spean Bridge to Banavie back road to avoid the World Mountain biking and turn right on the road to Mallaig. After Glenfinnan take the turning off to Lochalaine all the way to Strontian and back around by the Corran ferry through Fort William and home. Some great views but as ever when the road is great you never stop so piccys not as good as they should be!!1 point

May 4th, 2019 Spend: £78.00 My ECU had arrived back from Ian at Oddified and of course I could not wait to fit it. Just in time for Stoneleigh! My joy was however short lived as when I started the car, the engine would not settle in an idle, and kept trying to stall again. 😢 But as Ian had told me that he was going to be at Stoneleigh as well, armed with laptop and lead... If I could get the car to him and find him, he could tweak it. So I continued ploughing on. I wanted to raise the car's height at the rear as I noticed the car bottoming out a few times when driving it previously. And looking on Westfield World, the recommended height is 170-175mm, whereas my car sat at 120mm. This is where I should have stopped, as by the time I had raised the suspension high (not having the right tool should have been a warning) and tried to drive it, I discovered there was no longer any suspension travel left. Trying to undo my mistake, I ripped the fuel pump connector off and then had to spend half an hour trying to re-crimp it and making sure that still worked. When I then continued with the suspension and got caught out in a hail storm, I downed the tools and resigned to driving to Stoneleigh in the tin top. May 5th, 2019 Sold: £100.00 Had arranged for a little convoy to Stoneleigh, and of course we had the best turn out ever. 6 Westfields, 1 Caterham and myself in the Mondeo. Jody had brought his dads V8 and his mate Paul with the FW400, but Jody had suffered a slight snag with one exhaust mount. Whilst we were waiting for Jody to do his repairs, I looked around the car park and noticed a familiar number plate... It's only my old Westfield! Now on it's 6th owner, but at least it is back in the area 👍 @Craig Scammell then lead us to the show ground without issue. Perfect! I didn't spend anything, but picked up some hubs/uprights for @mikey p and sold my old wheels to @1960dave . When I had enough, I went home and as Amazon had delivered a C spanner, I continued with the suspension until the car was drivable again. Maybe I can still get it to the show and meet up with Ian? May 6th, 2019 Spend: £0.00 I emailed Ian, passing him my phone number and hoped he picked up emails. And sure enough, in less than 30 minutes he phoned up and we arranged for me to meet him at his car (a very nice Metro 6R4 replica) so that he could have a look at the car. I stuck to the motorways just to avoid stopping for junctions and limped into the show ground. Ian fired up the laptop with Easimap and with some old fashioned engineering and tweaking he soon had it purring like a kitten. A quick spin around the area confirmed that the tweaks had worked. What a legend. I returned to the WSCC stand which was near enough empty, so after a short walk around I returned home, taking the scenic route 🏎️ May 19th, 2019 Spend: £44.10 No chores around the house to do, so fitted the new fancy Denso ITV16TT spark plugs I had bought a couple of weeks ago. Topped up with oil and coolant and then finished the day off by giving the car a wash. May 20th, 2019 Spend: £0.00 To mark the start of National Drive Your Westfield to Work Day (Week) I fell at the 1st hurdle as the car wouldn't start! In the evening I went to investigate and of course my first thoughts were the new spark plugs I fitted yesterday, so swapped them back with the old ones. Made no difference, but then I noticed that the idle screw had become slightly loose and as such the car didnt get enough air in at idle/starting. After a little adjusting, all was well again 🤔 May 21st/22nd/23rd/24th, 2019 Spend: £0.00 As mentioned yesterday... Drive that Westfield to Work! May 25th, 2019 Spend: £0.00 So back to the spark plugs. Removed the old plugs again and on cylinder 4 was met with this little issue. I must have broken it whilst trying to remove it, but the upshot was that a little splinter of ceramics was lying on the edge of the plug hole 😮. And of course it fell in 🤬. Thankfully with some suggestions from the forum and internet I managed to vacuum it out... 😇 Double checked the chamber with my endoscope camera and could not see any more debris, so started the car and it ran fine... Today only 80 miles to visit Gunter Sommer at high glen distillery in saints Maria Val Mustair Over the ofenpasse in glorious weather to the distillery where we were royally treated and Gunters hospitality knows no bounds we were treated to a tour of the distillery, museum and the smallest whisky bar on earth We were fed and watered and treated like family we then went up the umbrail pass to the snow gate and view point before heading home A wonderful day out relaxed and destressed Unfortunately the meal tonight was really bad and the service left a lot to be desired, strange as everybody else has been so wonderful1 point

Day 6 of our adventure where do I begin Making a workaround to make sure folk had waypoints for the day as the socket and satnav power lead weren’t talking we headed off to the Rhine falls, what a stunning and breathtaking place. From here we headed towards Austria and used some tracks literally !!! To go over some mountain tops in the mist we then pressed on to Lantern where we went up a pass to where the snow was and back down as now time was getting on it was decided to head for Guarda but in a village we all became separated and the agreed “get to the hotel “ was implemented. So punched in quickest route and set off, as we passed a service area I spotted Ali and Gail along with Jim and Laura, so at least we were taking the same “quick “ route. Pulling off at Davos it said the Fluella pass was closed. Oops so pressed on south the Abula pass closed so carried on south through a pass and then over the Juliapasse, WOW, to say it was stunning is an understatement so climbing up the pass saw a remarkable amount of fuel and fun used despite the rain which turned to snow flakes, the higher we went, blasting up the hairpins in second and third with the odd grab of fourth, arms like popeye soon 🙂 Then over the top to saint moritz and up to Guarda , tunnels and passes in the dark made an altogether different experience mmmmmm 270 miles of ADVENTURE1 point
