Sharing my latest bargain buy.....I bought a quad bike cover as it looked about right for the roll cage of the car. Fully elasticated around it’s skirt. Clearly not tailored to fit but fits ok for £10... screws up into a bag of about 8”x 6” https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F1428711207374 points

As per the title, it’s the Cheshire meet on Thursday. 7.30pm at the Golden Pheasant, Plumley. Come and show us all your Westfields winter upgrades and how ready for Stoneleigh we all are! Let's see if we can actually get some Westfields on the carpark this month! I'll see you all later. Ian.2 points

What time does the convoy expect to reach Hilton Park Services? I'm aiming to be there, but I don't want to be sitting around waiting for too long (its going to be fairly nippy by all accounts, and I don't have luxuries like a heater (or a screen, or a roof...)2 points

The weather forecast is sunshine and showers, if it is the former i will be giving my car a shakedown run prior to Sunday. Are you lot planning on going for a run? i don't want to turn up at an empty car park1 point
-
Had a long overdue day off yesterday and made good use of it I went for my annual engine check and a run on the rollers ,it’s times like this I realise my cars potential is much greater than the drivers1 point

The tickets are printed from your confirmation email, infield passes are sent out nearer the day.1 point

No problem Chris - tickets aren't actually sent out till about two or three weeks before the event, but it's yours as soon as I have it.1 point

Was that half hood and doors or half hood only. I've travelled quite a distance with half hood and doors in quite heavy rain and it did not seem to bad, to a degree it was worse stationary depending upon wind direction as the rain could come in from the rear. It's actually quite cosy and with the heater warm. I'm trying to remember fully the day, we travelled both ways in rain and then spent the day in the rain, from memory when we got there we did not feel to bad, but then having spent the day in the rain and then travelling back in the rain, when I got home I wanted a hot shower and a hot drink. I've also done half hood and wind deflectors, this was not to bad for a shortish distance, especially if you are travelling home. My right side was quite damp by the end though, I suspect half doors and mud flaps would help with this. One thing I have done with the doors and half hood is to put press studs on so that the half hood can be attached to the top of the door ( one in the middle and one at the back), this helped quite a bit.1 point

Dave - bring it to Stoneleigh and I'll take it of you - I'll be in the tin-top so no car pass required, but will jump in yours as per last time!1 point

Tim, payment finally made when I got your address right. Apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused you. I will prostrate myself and beat my head on the floor until I get it right just like that rounded conrod bolt...1 point

April 1st, 2019 Spend: £62.00 And we're off for the new season! New Pipercross filter arrived, so installed that and then put the car on the charger so I can drive it a little later when I finish work. April 14th, 2019 Spend: £0.00 Went for some coffee at Caffeine and Machine in Ettington. Nice place! April 15th, 2019 Spend: £30.00 MOT time! Great service at Nene Auto Repairs as usual. April 19th, 2019 Spend: £0.00 Lovely weather for a drive, so Q jr and myself had some breakfast in the Cotswolds April 22nd, 2019 Spend: £40.00 Picked up a luggage rack from an ex-Westfield owner in Bozeat. April 30th, 2019 Spend: £8.04 Discovered that my programmable fan switch no longer switched the fan on, and upon inspection discovered that a faux-pas in my wiring caused it to overheat and blow up the rectifier. Ordered a new rectifier to replace it, but that didn't fix it, so had ordered a W1209 temperature controller to replace it. Last month: £ 9047.67This month: £ 140.04 ----------+Total: £ 9187.711 point

Only a small update as I've been back on the DIY for the last couple of weeks. There's not much left to do now but one of the jobs was to fit the chain. This was on the list to do a few weeks ago were it not for an ebay seller who let me down by promissing a 2day delivery that in the end turned out to be 6weeks! Suffice to say I cancelled the order and did what i should have done originally and bought one from the local motorcycle shop. Even after finally getting a chain the problems didn't end there as it wouldn't fit the sprocket! No problem as I have plenty of alternative sprockets but I'd obviously fitted one in error that had the wrong pitch. With the engine now in the final position and the chain adjusted correctly ita time for a brave pill and cutting the engine cover. The position of the cut out was marked from the underside by drawing around the cylinder head and then the corners of the cut out drilled with a hole saw. the straight cuts were then made with a fine saw with a file and sand to finish. A quick clean and polish then the roundels were applied. a race car needs numbers so 67 seemed a fitting choice since this car would have first been raced in 1967. j1 point

Thanks Ian, sorry it's been an incredibly busy and stressful week on a number of fronts, kept meaning to put up a reminder, but forgot! (Sadly, the Stoneleigh weekend is also the anniversary of my Mum's death, three years ago, so always a difficult time, personally.)0 points
