I liked the shonky "quick and dirty" version as it reminded me of @CosKev's car....6 points

Can't help with old brochures, but as an aside, it is great to see significant input from Kingswinford, not just on this thread, but I've noticed it on other threads as well. Thanks are I think due to Simon, as well as the Guys in Parts department.4 points

I've had my crossflow for over 5 years, and neither me or the previous owner have had the engine apart. As far as I know it's a standard 1600 GT spec. As others have said it leaks oil and uses a bit of water, I just keep it topped up. I would jump in the car and go anywhere in it.2 points

Indeed, cracking day, had great fun. New pads worn down to the metal!! It was also brilliant to catch up with the friendly WSCC community, you're a great bunch! Well worth doing and I hope we can do another one. Makes me wonder why the club doesn't organise these days, like so many other clubs do (mx5oc and Porsche club for example).2 points

I had Arias pistons in my old crossflow and are still in there 20 years later , as a mate owns the car now. But worry not and just use it. They are easy engines to work on but can be a lot of work to make them sing good reliable power. Mine was 145 bhp with steel flywheel, roller rockers , guy who did porting for Janspeed did the head a flow work, but still happy with standard rods and crank, although steel main ends line bored in. Was a great engine , even if it cost me a lot was worth it. ( was told it was me or the car by the then missus. She became the ex about an hour later ) women are replaceable a decent crossflow is for life1 point

If you go down the xflow route, you really want a decent specked engine and cast pistons are not a good start IMHO... if it was rebuilt in 2012 with cast Pistons, then it's not been built with performance or longevity in mind, more of a budget.... Mart.1 point

If you use Valvolene Racing 20W50 will be good for many years. If using cast pistons, not so many. But just use it until it cracks a piston and then build it better1 point

I think they tend to leave a large puddle of charisma under them whenever they park up :D1 point

The Xflow is highly praised for its sound, earning its nickname 'mighty Xflow'. And it has a penchant to leave a breadcrumb trail of oil everywhere... but they all do that Sir!1 point

Lots of support on this one. Some fantastic examples of the sales brochures. I'm also seeing the evolution of the vehicles.1 point

JK’s with the seat padding and self supporting base are actually heavier than the standard sports seats. If you don’t need seat runners you can bolt the seat direct to the floor and rear bulkhead without the seat base.1 point

I unhitched the trailer at work, locked it up and left the car on it for the night! I was totally knackered and the last thing I wanted to do was try and bump it to move it about. That’s a job for tomorrow.1 point

Thanks Martin for organising. I’ve had a great day, apart from feeling a bit achy now. Definitely more track days to be had this year.1 point

Hello members! For those of you who met me at the Speed Series Awards or have seen Thrustyjust's post you'll know that I am expecting a child this year However I just wanted to jump on and say... I'm still going to be looking after you all this club is a great community which I honestly can say I feel a part of - the support and welcome we get from members at shows and events is amazing and you're always a friendly bunch when you call up in regards to your insurance. To ensure we don't lose the relationship we've built with members (and so I can keep an eye on you all haha) I will be following the forum whilst on my maternity leave so as always you are welcome to pm me with any queries and I'll do my best to offer you the support you are after or refer to the office where needed. I'll be in the office until 22nd March so if any of you are due for renewal before then I may speak to you on the phone before I go Carlie1 point

The uploading continues! I've caught up now (I think), 20 brochure and 1 price list. I've put them in brochures and price lists in separate sub-categories to make it easier to browse. If you have any that don't appear in those lists, please let me know so we can add it to the library - thank you!1 point
-
The two price lists and the Kit Cars International article please including the front cover please. You can save these either as either JPGs or as a PDF file and PM them to me. If you could also PM me the contact details for that magazine (probably on Page 1), I can make an effort to contact them or whoever now owns them to get permission to reproduce it and make @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary happy Thanks!1 point
