Update time..... Last night I ventured out into the darkest depths of Suffolk to collect the bodywork from Applied Fibreglass. For those wondering where they are, they make all the bodywork for Andy Bates AB Performance and are based in the unit next door to Andy. I'd asked them to refit the new bodywork in the moulds to minimise the risk of damage for the journey home so I hadn't had a chance to look at them when I got home last night, but tonight I popped the first part from the moulds and had a good look for the first time. Hopefully the weather will be good this weekend so I can work on the main body parts.4 points

As far as I'm aware, no one has been in the loft between it working and not working. Likewise, I struggle to believe even the most rabid party squirrel Irish dancing on top of the switch, while carrying his whole family on his shoulders, in a display of supreme gymnastic ability, could have tripped the switch. And there's no way the cat could get up there. you need ladders to even get to the loft hatch, which is the lift out panel type. As for access from the outside, I keep sealing up holes big enough for the damn squirrel to get in, so can't believe anything larger could have got in there!2 points

It's all relative. I was driving a 948cc Standard Ten when my neighbour had 1600cc Cortina which he let me drive. It was like a dream of sheer acceleration and power! Don't know the figures for the Ford but my Standard was about 34bhp so another ten or fifteen bhp was a quantum leap.1 point

Safe and sound on the settee. He’s an indoor cat, so not him, as he doesn’t know where the ladders kept1 point

Let me know , maybe pm what you paid for them Adge. I suspect its what I will be getting.1 point

They only get longer if you get out of bed earlier than lunchtime @AdgeC Looks ideal. If mine had to be outside , it would be doing the same. Instead it has a dehumidified painted garage , with the radio on so it doesnt get lonely1 point

Can't say I've ever come across this before but is their any chance thier could be damp in the loft? If moisture had somehow infiltrated the switch, and then there was a surge it might cause an arc, which blew the switch over - It's a real stretch, but given the other alternatives such as wildlife and ghosts....1 point

Environmentally friendly poltergeists who go round switching lights off when not being used could be the answer to global warming. I could certainly do with one in my house...1 point

Sir, what you had there was what we refer to as a Focused, Non-Terminal, Repeating Phantasm, or a Class 5 Full-Roaming Vapor... a real nasty one too... Failing that what kind of temperature swings are in the loft, just in case it's mechanical rather than ghosties? Or an air pressure change with the weather finishing the job off? Assuming it had been balanced for a while rather than firmly on.1 point

Ramair on ebay also do alloy bends . Not as cheap at ASH but they do turn up in a day or two.1 point

Try a local exhaust builder - There's a branch of Longlife close to you Unit B12 Deeside Industrial Estate Deeside CH5 2JZ Telephone 0151 268 0533 The will sometimes have pre-formed sections in stock (rather than the crush-bends that you'll get if they use their bending machine to form the bend1 point

Note, if you need an elbow with one leg longer than the other, Vioer have also recently introduced some super long versions, to allow you to cut them down to suit, (BLiNK have a bead roller to redo the end that you trim). Each leg is 300mm. super long elbows, here. https://www.viperperformance.co.uk/aluminium-pipes_10199_super-long90-elbow-aluminium-hose-joiner.html1 point

Does it have to be stainless? Polished aluminium is usually more common. Having found ASH poor in the past, I’ve generally used VIper, they have a 32mm aluminium pipe here, https://www.viperperformance.co.uk/aluminium-pipes_9819_90-aluminium-hose-joiner.html its 152x152 mm leg lengths if that would do.1 point

Hi folks, had this email from Pit Strahl in switzerland "hi Folks, what a nice trip, congratulations ! How many of you are on the trip more or less? I live in the southern part of Switzerland, near the lake of Lugano. I call it the eldorado for seven drivers or similar men toys. maybe I could arrange it to be free from 29/05 to01/06. I know plenty of beautiful narrow, very curvy single track roads down here. I am sure you would like it. Also there are plenty of nice Grottos (local inns) with simple delicious local food. If interested in more information please feel free to write me. It would be nice to see you guys curving around here, cheers Pit " I have been in touch with him via the Lotus seven club of Switzerland, and have been in touch with them for a while now, and I have posted our itinerary with them as well , so hopefully we can meet up with Pit and some of the other members, then reciprocate when Pit comes to Scotland1 point
