  1. Another new member joins the club (and boosts the Somerset contingent ) I’ve been on the forum for a couple of months, firstly as a voyeur and recently as a full member. I found my car on here, which I collected on Saturday (more below) Firstly though I have to say that my initial findings of the club are a revelation from my former kit car ownership experiences. There is a wealth of information; the website/forum is easy to use and clearly has been well invested in and maintained; the club magazine is as good as a shop bought publication; and the help of other members/committee has already proved invaluable. I hope to be able to contribute in my own small way; and so to start (as I know you all like them) some pictures from my first journey, the trip back from Shropshire – we took the scenic route over eight hours! Loving the car and hope to meet up with some of you soon. Dave

  16. I'll be at the Glover Arms lunch on 2nd December. I could do the Strathfillan Wigwams event on the last weekend in June, but I note Rab's post about it being 21st to 23rd. I'm unlikely to be able to do that weekend. I'm intending to do Brad's Navigation Run in August. Cheers, Brian

  18. OK folks, we've left it longer than is perhaps fair on Phil, but you always have your fingers crossed for a few last minute changes of mind. I'm afraid we just don't have the numbers, especially if you take Ian and I out of the equation, to run this event at this time. So, rather than trying to run it either later in the month, with potential for even more unpredictable weather, or next month, when it could be worse, we will postpone the dyno and weigh day till spring. (In truth, we were planning on another then, anyway, if this went OK, so that you could measure before and after the Winter tinkering season, but Cest la vie!) So, just to be sure, this weekends event is cancelled, and will be rescheduled for spring 2019!

  22. That is an obscenely tidy and clean garage! Do you not realise that the floor should be sticky with congealed oil, the walls daubed with notes of oil change mileages, the roof festooned with cobwebs of unknown vintage, and the corners running with giant spiders? If my Good Lady were to see that picture I'd would be nagged into putting up shelves, sweeping leaves out, and painting the walls of my garage! Shame on you sir! You have queered the pitch for us all!

  24. Gary, can I just remind everyone that it's usually the third weekend in June that we traditionally go to Applecross and this would be the weekend that we would still use for Strathfillan Wigwams! This would make it Fri 21st - Sun 23rd June 2019.

  26. As for space, build a wooden trolley at a height to suit you and fit heavy duty castors. That way you can move the whole Shabang forwards/backwards/sideways easily in your confined garage.

  28. Thanks guys, I'll see about the 710 ecu, that sounds like it might be the way forward. I have absolutely no idea where to start with mapping an ecu, so if I can get one from omex that will do the job and allow me to have a digital display then I like the sound of that! I'm sure I'll find a buyer for the S2000 ecu. And yes its very exciting knowing that the engine is on its way. It looks lile it is in good shape and that all the important bits are there.

  30. I have a soft bits for sevens half hood to suit an RAC bar to windscreen, with the plastic channel, going surplus to requirements. I only used it twice but it's a fantastic bit of kit. Comes with the waterproof bag that attaches to the roll bar too. If you're interested, make me an offer. Cheers, Barny. EDIT - NOW SOLD.
